TOTALLY EXHAUSTED: I am working from home and I am struggling doing that but my problem is I feel so exhausted. I am on purple and overall staying on track but being so exhausted is something else. I think I may have a bit of depression in there as well, I live alone but have friends we all stay in contact with. Are any of your totally exhausted? If so what are you doing about it?

Go outside and walk- it helps even if you can only go a little way at first. Breath in fresh air.

I am fighting this everyday too. So far I haven’t “won” so I don’t have any advice but to keep taking it one day at a time. A few of my friends are fitness instructors and they’re doing online classes through zoom, but I can’t even convince myself to log on. All I want to do is lay in bed.

Same here. And it seems the longer this goes on, the less motivated I get :(

I’m guessing it’s the circumstances. I think everyone feels a bit off. I agree. try to get outside. Hoping we get more sunny and warm days too. Are you eating more carbs on purple because rice and pasta are 0? That could be it too.

Take a normal shower. After, turn the water to as cold as you can stand it and try to stay under cold water for 30 seconds to one minute. It increases the dopamine level in your brain, which helps you to feel better. If you try it, let me know how it goes.

@vipul I need to try this.

I’m on medication for anxiety and depression. I’m tired every day. I’m sleeping a lot. But, I do get out of the house every day, twice a day to walk my dog. He’s a big dog and needs exercise so I have to walk with him for about an hour each time.
by (1.1k points)
@fowkes55 me too Cept I don’t have a dog to walk. I just started pills and tired all of the time.
by (1.1k points)
@fowkes55 I’ve been on disability since Jan 27 - hip surgery.
by (1.4k points)
@philip I have had a knead both hips replaced then in October I had major back surgery, I am still on limited things I can do until November that is part of my problem as well. I know when I have over done it however I know when I am totally healed from the back surgery I am going to feel wonderful, I can already tell that. I just need to keep in mine what I can and cannot do.

Sometimes if I am in the house too long I get tired like that. Try getting outside for like 15-20 minutes, may help. Could also be low iron

Yup constantly exhausted. I’m also working from home now. I’m not alone, though. I have 2 young kids who I’m helping grouch school as well. Hubby’s working still normally with fewer hours & even though they’re essential his coworkers have been laid off. It’s stress for sure. The only thing that seemed to actually help was to work out. To put this in perspective, I don’t work out lol. Haven’t tried since 2014! Since then I’ve had shoulder surgery (more or less minor) and back surgery (VERY major). Last Saturday I dug out an old video and popped it in my DVD player. I’ve never used it before. I did it! I hurt, omg did I hurt. But I did it. Once I felt okay again (Wednesday) I did another workout. It felt so good to get that out. My 2nd one was a dance workout where she plays amazing meaningful music & it’s meant to help you heal (b. Class - find on FB) and it was amazing! It’s worth a shot. Good luck to you  these times are SO hard.

When i stopped working the first 10 days or so i was totally exhausted. The first couple of days i made myself deep clean the house . After that i would sleep n sleep . Figured i just needed it as i wasn't feeling too good at first. Now my daughter is working from home n i am making myself get out of bed and acutely do things like maintaining keeping the inside clean n have moved myself outside to get the yard cleaned up and the patio clean n planted some plants n seeds. Its been sunny out here the last few days so its been great. Also keeping my butt out of that damn fridge! Its just plain evil i say! My knee bothers me if i dont take the medicine for it but trying my best not to let it get to me. I am thinking of buying a cane so i can go and walk a bit. In the back of my mind if i do that i am admitting defeat but have to get over that hump . It will get better for you
by (3.9k points)
@believe get the cane it will help your knee and eventually you won't need it.
by (1.2k points)
Thanks Audrey. You are right i just have to get it in my head its for the better
by (3.9k points)
@believe right remember you are worth it no matter how little or how much you do you are doing something which is better than nothing.

I’m in the office twice a week and the rest of the time I work outside on the deck if weather permits. Just being in the fresh air seems to help. Also some light exercise. As a side note, I’m also @ernaline Ann.

There was an article posted here but one of my friends that says this is a direct result of the trauma from quarantine isolation whatever you want to call it. You must give yourself Grace during this time.

Take a break from work. Go for a short walk. If the weather is not good do some stretching. Take this time to learn something new. Tons of free TV for learning something new. Cooking healthy. New hobbies or crafts. Self positive talk.

Try music and yoga to breathe deeply and connect with your inner self. WW meditations are great in the app too. Praying for peace!  !

Make a list, prioritize, triage, help when and where you can. Break frequently. Know you are only helpful to others when you have taken care of your needs first.

There is a syndrome whereby people who go out to work get sick when they go on holiday, exhaustion is your body winding down from a constant state of alertness, people experience this when they first retire! Break your work day up into 60 minute slots, set a timer, every 60 minutes go out your door, or stick your head out the window, make a cuppa, text a friend, you will find life easier in 60 minute slots, love to you

Make sure you are getting enough of the right foods. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Keep an eye on yourself in case you have other symptoms because exhaustion is one of the symptoms of the virus. And if you have the chance to sleep, then sleep as much as you can.

I suffer from depression, for years. Started as a child. Diagnosed when I was young. Yes, one way it gets me is I am totally exhausted. I started walking about 10 years ago. I walk at least 7 miles total a day. That includes at home. It helps me. Getting out and into the air, (rain or shine I go, I won't melt) I have met a lot of nice people walking. Lost weight, I feel better emotionally and physically. Oh yeah I was so tired when I first started walking. Then I noticed how much better I felt walking and being in the air. I have met a lot of people while walking. Sometimes we walk together part way. I highly recommend it.

It is tough and no ez out. I agree with Sharon. Walking is helpful. I worked on a Beh. Health Ward for years and just being outdoors, if u can will help u a great deal. It is difficult to interact with others in masks. But just being outside, with nature, changes one's perspective. Good luck with this. It is terrible.

I work from home at first its hard but found out the first thing you need to do when you get up is shower and act like your going to work in office. Go get coffee or take a walk. this is your driving to work time. Make sure to take your breaks again walk if you can't walk outside do something inside. Make sure to take lunch and sign off after 8 hours. Normal to feel depressed at first. But moving will help.

Could you go for a walk in a nearby park after you wake up? It won’t be that busy and fresh air, listening to birds and moving your body might help lift up your spirits a bit. I do exercise very early and it gives me energy for the whole day

Exercise can help fight depression and it will help with ww. I know it sounds counterproductive when u feel exhausted but exercise actually gives u more energy. Start small and build. Sleeping too much can also make you feel more tired. Good luck!
