WW isn't about skipping meals. It's about building healthy eating habits for life. This is WW not some temporary STARVATION diet. If you're not hungry of course don't force yourself to eat. Following WW guidelines and staying persistent and consistent is what helps you achieve goal and Lifetime. ‍♀️

@pervious so what happens if I didn't eat lunch and I have a ton of points after dinner? Let them roll over?

@pervious I agree with you. This isn't a starvation diet. It's healthy eating that can last a lifetime.

@hippocrene3368 you can only rollover 4 points.

I know, I am just talking about today, but I haven't been hungry lately, and when I eat, is normally apples, oranges or bell peppers, jus because I need to eat, but today, I am out of the above

I agree that you shouldn’t eat when you’re not hungry. Listening to your body is key to health. NOT listening to your body is why so many people have issues. Our bodies are smart; they know what we need and what to do.

@raffinate if that were the case I'd be eating all day long. Lol
by (980 points)
@koonce18630 you’re TRULY hungry all day? Even after eating nutritious food?
by (3.1k points)
@raffinate yes!
by (980 points)
@koonce18630 wow! But if you’re eating mostly raw fruits and veggies - you sure could eat all day! And lose a sh*tton of weight
by (3.1k points)
@raffinate I don't have that many fruits and veggies to eat all day long.

I do. If I’m not hungry, I don’t eat. As long as I use my points for the day (I’m do the points program from 2003. I think they’re called Flex Points)

I think it is important to eat only when you are hungry.

Yes! I’m learning to “eat to live” not “live to eat! ” I eat when I’m hungry.

Skipping meals can trick you body into “starvation-mode” . resulting in your metabolism slowing down. making it harder to lose the weight. Having said that I know many people are doing intermittent fasting.

You should only eat when you are hungry. But don’t wait till you are starving.

Actually I have found that it does the opposite. When I dont eat enough calories or meals throughout the day I actually gain weight

Sure. It would help on the scale, but it’ll catch up to you when you decide to eat.

No it won’t help you. U need to eat to lose. That’s my experience. Use Yr points.

I don’t think you should eat if you aren’t hungry. You shouldn’t deprive yourself, but if your body isn’t hungry, you don’t need any food at that time.

On occasion it’s okay! On a regular basis I don’t think it will help with your weight loss. I’ve lost over 150 pounds and I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I’m also not a fan of intermittent fasting.

My advice is see what works for you. Everybody’s bodies are different and some people can lose by skipping meals by others can’t.

I ended up not being hungry at dinner time, I had a protein shake just to keep my body from saying it was starving when bedtime rolled around.

Don’t skip to lose. If you’re not hungry you’re not hungry. all the points don’t roll over either.

I call those times. "My DELAY Meals" I don't "skip them. I kind of push them back as in reserve, because I don't know what my day will hold. Two things::::::: NEVER let yourself get overly hungry. that's a big flashing sign for throwing in the towel and just not caring . :::: Don't let part of your brain say. "Well, I didn't have breakfast, so I can have this yummy little item. " It plays with your mind and gives you permission (kind-of) for slipping into . not so healthy habits"

Never eat when your not hungry. Sometime way back when someone started making meal times called breakfast, lunch and dinner. That doesnt mean you should or that you have to eat on some timetable someone made. Eat when your hungry. I usually eat a couple meals a day and maybe a snack. Not if im not hungry.

Since I am retired and some times get up earlier or later, I eat when I am hungry. I also eat toast and then go to gym. Afterwards I have my protein!

I wasn’t hungry for dinner yesterday, but I had a good lunch at 12 noon with my adequate points. So I just went to bed and didn’t eat dinner. I definitely wouldn’t force myself to eat if I’m not hungry

Listen to your body! That is your best guide. If you're hungry eat. If you're not hungry, don't eat. Make sure you're eating enough to stay healthy. I had to learn not to eat by the "clock. " Meaning, just because it was lunch time or dinner time, didn't mean I had to eat if I wasn't hungry.
by (10.6k points)
Absolutely. That's what I'm learning as well. I eat when I'm hungry.

Your metabolism is supposed to work more efficiently when you eat something small every 2 hours. It works for me if I can just remember to stop and do it.

When you stop eating your body thinks it’s in starvation mode and metabolism slows down

I use an every 4 hr. routine. That way I never get too hungry. I’m a grazer so if I wait to long I lose control and eat off.

I have formed bad habits over the years. I now realize I no longer have what it takes to make good choices when it comes to eating. I know this b/c I am obese! This is my truth & because of that truth I look for help & that came with joining WW. So, I chose to always do the better thing & that is the program. It has helped me reset all things about eating & I am thankful for that. This is what I feel will get me to a better place. I am more than 1/2 way to goal. Best health!
