With this pandemic and staying home majority of the time in almost a month, I expanded.  I’d like to get back to 107 lbs. I gained almost 13 lbs. I’m also unmotivated. Any tips? I used to ride my bike and used to eat healthier food choices. I’ve been eating a lot of carbs and haven’t been anywhere as active.

Be kind to yourself. We are all under an enormous amount of stress right now and food is just one of the ways our society “self-soothes”. It’s not only okay but it is socially acceptable for us all to be unmotivated right now. I have faith that “this too shall pass” and we will all get back to better eating habits and motivated to get off of the couch to take that walk. It’s okay, love yourself and take care of yourself right now, you deserve it because you are perfect just as you are. Have a beautiful holiday.

@rationality thank you. this is just not me. I’m volunteering tomorrow to make masks and gowns. I’m hopeful it will get me going.

It’s been rough. I’m tempted to try adding MCT oil to my coffee as people say that boosts energy and doesn’t taste or smell anything. ‍♀️

@nicotiana be careful and start slow. or you will have tummy issues and be in the bathroom all day. trust me  maybe half the recommended amount for a couple days

Add me to this list as well. I'm not eating more. mostly, it's just what is in the house, not great choices.

@partner exactly. I always find myself either in the pantry or the fridge looking for food.
by (410 points)
@nicotiana me too. I have great intentions to start exercising, but then get busy doing other things.

@partner tomorrow I’ll go out to volunteer making masks and gowns. It will be a good day.

I walked 20 days x 10, 000 steps= 200, 000. It kept my focus on something I did not think I could do. I feel toned and I sleep good.

I'm afraid of gaining weight right after my operation. I'm always eating half rice as I can and less pork. Then i eat saltes peanut as my protein amd egg white. staying in a hotel for 3 weeks is so unhealthy since I can't do cardio. All we have to do is to control our food intake for now. Be safe everyone .

I know how you feel. i gained some weight as well during this pandemic and became unmotivated to work out given i am more used to the gym. I started a new routine now which is getting my workout in as early as 6:30am. youtube has wide variety of workout videos to choose from. Trick is to get your workout in as early as possible. Still working on the food though as i find myself eating more carbs than protein. But the workout is definitely a start and i am loving it

@distraint704, the carbs are getting me too. Even though I know better all I want to do is bake.

Start! One step at a time. I too am unmotivated and decided I’m getting up and out on my bike downing a mask every day. Even if my ass hurts on the seat!  once I get out I’m loving it! It’s just convincing me to do it that is tough.

What motivated you in the first place?

Although this is a really tough time, and I have my own struggles just like anyone else, I am trying to look at it as a gift. I have more time with my kids, I don’t have to drive to and from work everyday, I can sleep more AND work in my jammies from my couch. I decided I WAS NOT going to gain weight during this time, and am going to take advantage of the extra time to be mindful of my activity level and what goes in my mouth. It’s not easy, and I am no where near perfect, but I have lost 2 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

I’m in the UK and we’re allowed to go for a walk once a day. So I’m doing the Joe Wickes daily workout each morning (on YouTube) and then in the evening I’m going for a 45 minute walk.

Sometimes portions are an issue for me as I like to boredom eat. Crafts help, sometimes a good book. I try to stay away from the tv since that "enables" my boredom eating. Where I live, the weather is getting nicer so there is the option to sit outside away from my fridge. ♥️

This is a depressing and difficult time for most. I had maintained for over a month because I was stressed on so many different levels with work, possible move, not being able to go to the gym and all that’s going on in the world. You can only control what you can control. I am controlling my physical activity by running and walking outside when I can, started streaming workouts with a fitness program, and continue to count my points (WW) the best that I can (with points, some weeks are better and some not so much). My mom decided this is a time to get back on track. my advice to everyone is you have to figure out the things that you can control and do the best you can. My drive is I don’t want to go back. I’ve come way too far to have lost all that I’ve lost and am not going to let this virus drag me down if I can help it. my fitness goal is to run a marathon by age 32 (I’m 29 now) and I plan continuing everything I can to reach this goal. Find you’re will in something you’ve never done or thought you’d be able to do. Drive is the key. Everything will fall in place in due time; you just have to keep you’re head held high

I can not keep unhealthy food in my house. I will binge until it is gone. The one thing I tell myself is. Nothing taste as good as being thin feels”! Heard that years ago at WW!

You are not alone. Think about the reasons you wanted to do this in the first place. I have to get back drinking more water, not so much snacking, and go for a walk when weather permits.

Truth is all it takes is the right combination of training and nutrition. It starts by being clear about your goals and then reverse engineering from there. What are you currently doing in your fitness routine and what is your ultimate goal?
by (650 points)
@holarctic as of yesterday I went out and went for a walk. I also pedaled my bike. Today, I did a little bit of yoga. So I’m doing better. My goal is to lose the 10-12 lbs.
by (880 points)
@nicotiana Good keep that end target in mind and don’t loose that focus . Is it cool if I ask you a couple of questions in regards to your health and fitness to see how I can help you the most?

@holarctic sure
