I see a lot of posts from people who seem to be just like me: struggling with staying on track during this time. I’m a teacher and without knowing all of my students are safe, my anxiety is crazy. So I’m looking for ideas from y’all. What can we do to curb the snacking? Any hobbies y’all have that can keep hands and minds occupied instead of reaching for a mindless snack? Anything easy to learn that takes few supplies? Any tips for getting back on track? We’ve all worked hard for every single pound we’ve lost. we can’t undo all of that now.

I don’t buy the snacks I like. I always keep a bowl of salad and cut up fruit in the fridge that I can go to. I add canned tuna or chicken and eggs to my salad for protein to keep me full longer.

In addition to the puzzles, coloring, and keeping a supply of healthy 0 point snacks around, I set my Pandora station on instrumental music, it’s soothing and helps take away some of the anxiety I’m feeling

Puzzles here too! Problem is I tend to drink beer when I’m going them. Unnecessary calories, but I enjoy it more than snacking

Contact your local health facilities and make masks. As an essential healthcare worker we are so appreciative. They can be hand or machine sewn!

@veneration there are some we would like to. No you can fold the fabric and hot glue around the side seams leaving a pocket for us to slide a filter into. lol

I crochet. It helps keep my hands busy. I am working on scarves and hats to donate to the homeless. I am still struggling, but this helps keep me distracted for at least part of the time.

I have just decided to be be as bad as I want this week (while still tracking) and start fresh next week. We were on a week furlough and doing home improvements so it honestly seemed easier to cave. I know, excuses. My husband and I both do WW ( started approx 2 months ago) and have been fighting a lot more than normal. This week has actually been the best we have had since we started even with being cooped up 24/7. ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

I've gone back to writing - just using a pen and composition book. I also dug out my old NYCB workout dvd to do every day along with wearing out my carpets walking 3 to 5 miles a day inside.

I am a teacher also and totally understand the anxiety and stress of not knowing your students well being. I have been trying some new WW friendly recipes, crafts with my kids, doing a book study with my team and walking outside (now that we finally have some nice weather in WA ) feel free to PM me if you want to “chat. ”

Hope on the scale ! I did after 4 weeks of not tracking and watching and it’s like the scale literally slapped me in the face and said “ here we r -now what” that put an end to snacking all together . So my advise is every time u wanna eat something that is not breakfast lunch or dinner hope on. It’s a deal breaker

I do this Apple thing. First. I don’t eat supper before 6. Helps me stay full longer. But. if I want something after 8 pm, I go for an Apple. If I don’t want the Apple, I’m not hungry. I’m craving. So I go for a glass of water. Don’t get me wrong, I still go for my popcorn once in a while. But I still have my Apple after.

I am having the same worry right now about my fourth graders. What helps me more than certain snacks or meal plans is just remembering that we have to go through this no matter what. The only control I have is that by sticking with WW, I will be my best self for my kiddos when we finally get to walk back through those school doors. I am not helping them by abusing my body through a bad diet. But I can better help them now and later if I am strong and healthy when we go back.
