Make all kinds of “nice cream” we have a Yonana and I love it, but a blender could work too I think?

@nidorf2 I’m really interested in trying this. Do you like the texture it produces? Can you add liquids?
by (740 points)
@westcott I have one, love it. You don’t need to add liquids. Makes ice cream or sorbet with any frozen fruits. My favorite is mango and strawberry yummy , check your local thrift store you can usually pick one up for 5-8$.

@missing thank you. I ordered one tonight. I have a dairy allergy so this will make a great little dessert maker ❤️
by (510 points)
@westcott I love the texture. You don’t add liquid. You can use many fruits, but most of the recipes will pair with banana to make it creamy.

Add a sprinkle of Davinci or Torani Sugar free syrups. In a bind I will break down and use snow cone syrup (coconut or Pina colada etc) to flavor mine. Snow cone syrup is 5 points for 1 oz/ 1 jigger. Which is WAY TO MUCH SYRUP, you only need a dash. I order Davinci & Torani, and snow cone syrups online to use year round. So they are always in our house. I use them in oatmeal too.

Don't thaw it. or just a bit so that it is not rock hard. Mix it with yogurt. and eat it semi-fredo! Thawed frozen fruit is kind of soggy.

Why is it we think nothing of spending $3-4 on a bag of chips or a pkg of cookies but can't bring ourselves to spend that much on a bag of apples or a few bananas? Doesn't make sense to me

It’s good in oatmeal or on plain yogurt.

I let it defrost and add it to Greek Plain Nonfat Yogurt with a little Swerve or sweetener of your choice. I throw in a 1/4-1/2 cup of Honey Bunches of Os for a crunch factor Yum! Depending on your cereal choice and amount, it's about 2 or 3 points.

Make popsicles
by (1.4k points)
@vagrant is there a recipe for that ?
by (5.4k points)
@irreverence5 I don't have a particular recipe, I usually toss frozen berries and either Juice or Greek Yogurt into a blender until I see a smoothie consistency, then freeze in a popsicle mold
by (1.4k points)
@vagrant that sounds perfect. Thank you for sharing.

The fruits in some bags are large so I cut them smaller. Then I add a little diet sweetener and some fresh fruits to it.

I put it on top of plain nonfat Greek yogurt the night before. As it that’s it makes a “syrup” that sweetened the yogurt. Top with your favorite granola

I’ve taken a whole bag of frozen berries and simmered on the stove for 30 mins or so with a little lemon juice so it’s like a compote- delicious warm or cold on its own or lovely in yogurt!

Do you have a produce co-op around? We have bountiful baskets and it is really great and inexpensive

I put mine in the blender right out of the freezer and add a diet juice blend that’s 5 calories a serving. Ocean Spray makes a good cranberry grape and a cranberry pineapple blend. It makes a nice slush depending on how much juice you add.
by (1.9k points)
@coaxial777 WW assigns points to fruit you have blended. Not sure why but you should chat with a leader about this.

I love frozen fruit with yogurt on top. I microwave a bowl of fruit 1-2 minutes depending on how much I put in the bowl then put the yogurt on top. My goal is to have it thaw slightly but still be a bit icy. Soooo good with yogurt! It tastes like a frosty sweet treat. I have tried frozen blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, mango and pineapple- all good. Especially if you put a couple different types of fruit in the bowl.
