I started back on WW January 2019 after trying EVERYTHING and I mean everything. Week one (after overhauling my eating completely), I lost one pound. One. Pound. I have NEVER been that person that loses six pounds on week one. I sat down (volleying between wanting to cry or throw a chair). I told myself if I lost one pound a week, I will have lost 52 pounds in a year - and if I did that - I would feel amazing. So far I have lost 65 pounds and so help me there have been ALOT of one pound weeks. There have also been 2-3 pound losses and gains too. It’s a journey and you learn a lot about yourself and what works and what doesn’t in that time. Talk to yourself like you would your best friend. You’ve got this! One day at a time my friend.

I lost 5 lbs in my first week on blue. I’ve found blue has been the best plan to make me lose my first 25 very quickly. Now I’m close to goal and I’m losing about . 6-1. 4 lbs a week.

Make the focus that you’ve done everything according to the plan and not had a 30 pt. Banana split every day, while still in points, you will do fine. Focus on behaviors and not the scale. The average weight loss is between one and two pounds, and you are right in that range. Remember . . Comparison is the killer of JOY. :)

I started with the green plan and lost 4 pounds the first week! Mind you, I switched to blue because I was spending a lot of time in bathroom and had horrible gas pains! The blue plan is working for me and still losing weight with the added protein it is so much more satisfying! I was also hungry all the time on the green, never satisfied!

No where does any program say your suppose to loss a lot in the first month. Be happy with your 2lbs and maybe next week it will continue to go down and before you know it your on a roll. Some weeks you may see 2 lbs other weeks . 2 lbs. It's a journey, a lifestyle change and there are no guarantees how much will come off each week.

Depends on a lot of factors the first one being how much weight you have to lose and the second being are you eating all of your allowed points. Obviously someone 300 pounds or so such as I was myself, has a lot more to lose and it falls off big for a while. Secondly if you don’t eat all of your points your body can go into starvation mode and hang on to the fat instead of letting it go. I don’t know if either one of these fit you just thoughts

I was told 1 to 2 lbs a week. Limit your 0 pt fruit to 2 a day, drink water and exercise a minimum of 30 min. Track and measure everything. Even 0pt fruit and veges. You are doing great!

Stick it out! I was stuck for the last 3 weeks then dropped 6 pounds in the last 2 days. Give it 2-3 more weeks before you change too much. Are you drinking a lot of water? Measuring or weighing food? Getting enough sleep?
by (540 points)
@madrigal yeah I’m doing all those things But that’s definitely encouraging to see

Yes, it's pretty normal with workouts. I started working out again and the scale went up 4 pounds. Our muscle fibers tear and hold water to help them heal. So it can make the scale look like it's not moving much, or show a gain or stay the same. It's temporary. It comes and goes with workouts. I saw before and after pictures of a girl who lost 2 pounds. It looked like she lost 15 pounds because of fat loss from the workouts and diet. So keep at it. The scale will eventually catch up.

@gunk5637 yea I feel like I’ve lost more. I always forget about muscle gain

I started in January on green. The first two months I didn’t even lose 2 pounds per week. Everyone loses differently. I look at any loss, even 0. 2 pounds, as a win for me.

If you hadn’t been onWW you probably would have g aimed at least 2 pounds. I don’t know why we expect to lose it quickly. It doesn’t come on overnight, yet we want it off yesterday.

Slow and steady is what you WANT. For realsies. This is a lifestyle change. Lifestyle changes are far more successful when they are introduced gradually. You see a huge drop in weight when you drastically change your diet. When we do it hard and fast like that we don’t change how we think. We don’t break those bad habits. That’s why fast weight loss without surgery comes back so quickly and easily. We’re making this healthy thing our new routine; our new habit. It takes time to build a new habit. Any weight loss is a success and something to be super excited about. Pat yourself on the back, sweetie. This has been 2 weeks full of wins for you!

One to two pounds a week is recommended. The first weight loss is usually just water weight!

I agree slow and steady. Stay off the scale for the next month. Focus on what your eating. Maybe you are having too many smart points on green, switching times blue and watching calories along with your zero point foods may work better? After 2 weeks if you are not happy it does not hurt to switch. And to ME yes I think you should lose more than 2 lbs your first 2 weeks. NOW. after 2-4 weeks 1lb a week is a fine even great loss. But maybe look into blue? You can have a bigger zero point foods. I still counted calories bc I felt LIMITLESS is too tempting when you are starting out! Things still have calories! I made sure I was under 1200 calories a day! But still chose from that list. You got this though. Don’t give up. THAT will get you nowhere! And remember 2 more weeks is 2 more lbs at this rate. 6 more weeks and you are down 8lbs! That is still fantastic! Way better than an 8lb gain!

I'm right with you--as an impatient weight loser I think I work hard enough at it to lose 4#/week--when it's only one it's a bummer. Stay strong though--you got this!

It depends on how much over goal you are! The more you need to lose the faster it comes off in the early months then levels off! You and your body are adjusting to a new lifestyle, be patient and let it work!
