I have tried what feels like every diet, every contraption to lose weight, pill, shake, drink or food and NOTHING works. Basically my hormonal imbalance due to health issues and the meds I take bc of said issues are the culprits. Is it fair? HELL NO! I've been at the gym everyday not being able to eat what I want when I want and GAINING weight instead of LOSING!?! SUCKS! At first my doctors were like pushing me and scolding me to "do something" then. all of a sudden. they stopped. And "you are not trying hard enough, let's go! " Has now become, "you just do the best you can don't worry" I feel abandoned and I'm frustrated like you wouldn't believe! Can ANYONE relate to this at all?

Switch doctors. Obviously they are not giving you the right treatment! Good luck.

I completely understand how you feel! I’ve tried paleo style, keto, meat veggies only, low carb, etc. I’ve tried everything! Honestly the best thing that has worked for me is weight watchers. Slow and steady losing weight. U can eat normal just portion. Have you tried it? Honestly my third time and it’s finally working for me. Don’t give up! U will get there! ❤️

@penetrating Sounds close to what l am dealing with! Truly, l feel for you!

@foredate managing and losing weight is so hard!
by (300 points)
@penetrating thank you. I've tried it though honestly I think it's been a halfhearted attempt. I think to have all my doctors just kinda change their conviction about my weight has just made me feel defeated. Mind games I guess

@armin I was starting to lose weight and so on my annual physical exam my doctor didn’t even bother acknowledging or even saying wow that’s a change lol. Like some doctors are dicks but u can change that. Find a better supportive doctor and maybe try something again. WW took me a while to lose weight cuz I was increasing my exercise too. Sometimes your body needs time for changes. Don’t give up ❤️

I agree with @penetrating. WW is the only thing that has worked for me. I don't always eat like I should on WW. I don't always exercise as much as I should either but I'm down 15 pounds since January and feeling better than I ever have before.

I woul get a second opinion with your medical team. WW works. It is a lifestyle change. Diets often die . Lifestyle change is a more positive outlook. You can do anything you put your mind to. You can do this. Don't get discouraged. There will be good weeks, bad weeks and plain ugly weeks. Keep moving. You got this.

Are you doing WW? If so then make sure you watch serving sizes and don't over eat the zero point foods
by (3.6k points)
@signore l agree about not overeating the zero point foods particularly starchy veg, rice, pasta, bananas etc. I watch my portion size particularly cheese, milk etc. When hungry l fill up with salad items and satsuma and sugar free jelly for something sweet. I use my daily points but not always my weekly points. I am on medication that has a tendency to cause weight gain and this is the only way l can loose weight

I was in the same boat due to PCOS. I was put on metformin to help with the insulin resistance and its been working
by (300 points)
@flora I have PCOS and diabetes with an insulin resistance too. Metformin isn't an option for me which is a bummer. I'm glad it's working for you that great!

I was on 21 day fix for almost a year, exercised hard daily and lived on protein and veges. No thyroid, hormone issues, etc. I cried because I could not lose lbs. I started ww green in Feb and down 17 lbs. I was shocked. I now eat carbs, fruit, chocolate, wine, and as long as I track and measure everything, I lose. I am still in shock. I believe I needed to actually eat more, cut back on protein and that is what is finally working for me. My mind kept screaming you cant eat that it's bad, and was scared I'd gain weight, but I weighed daily and it keeps going down. It's still hard to believe but it truly does work.

I was like you! Ready to throw in the towel. But I started drinking half my body weight in oz of water and taking a Goli vinegar gummies 2 am and 2 pm. I started losing again! And regular good bowel movements again.
by (2.8k points)
@destructible do the Goli vitamins contain caffeine or any types of stimulants?
by (6.7k points)
I’m not sure but I don’t feel anything. They’re vinegar based. Good for joints, too. Excellent and safe. Check them out online. Helps with weight loss but not a diet pill. I don’t know how it works.

Your worth so much more than your weight, I know you need to lose weight for your health but please don’t let it become your value as a person. I hope you can get a better doctor and I wish u al the best!

I would get a better doctor. There should be another med that doesn't cause weight gain.

@teraterai wow, good for you. Sounds like a magic weight loss program. I have a friend who is bipolar. Glad you are getting the help to control this. She went through a lot before she got the right meds.

Many of us have something that makes this more challenging - age, Meds, menopause, medical conditions - more challenging but not impossible. Doctors rarely are good sources for proper diet. Unless they are specialist they may have taken one nutrition class. Maybe seek out a good nutritionist We each have to do a little experimentation to see what works best for our unique body. Some lose best eating all their points (daily and weekly). Some feel the need to limit them. WW works - track everything - good, bad, ugly, tiny. Remember zero point foods are meant to be eaten to satisfy, not stuff/binge. I track zero point foods to be mindful of portion sizes. I still eat what I need to be satisfied and have found no reason to limit them. The key is mindfulness Good Luck
