So I still drink Diet Pepsi and I do eat chocolate sometimes and I count each piece. I haven't lost but I haven't gained. I stay within my points but wanting to know even though I'm not going over my points, if this is why I'm not losing? I'm just now going into my 3rd week on Blue.

It might just be stress. Welcome to WW! Here are some basic tips TRACK every lick, bite, and taste. The program does not work if you don't track. You can lie to the tracker but your body knows what it ate. MEASURE breakout the measuring spoons, cups and the food scale. Don't eyeball it you will be wrong. EXERCISE find something you love. You won't do if you hate it. I personally like walking, dancing when the weather says don't walk, and cardio-drumming. I do cardio-drumming from YouTube videos. Nothing is more satisfying than hitting things with sticks. If you need to start easy try marching in front of the TV during commercials and then build yourself up to a whole show. MEAL PREP I always keep a big bin of chopped onions, a big bin of chopped bell peppers, and a big bin of chunks of cooked chicken breast. I also have staples like cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, pasta, laughing cow triangle cheese, olive oil farro, tzatziki sauce, garlic, eggs, apples, oranges, bananas, berries, whatever is in season. This way when I am hungry I have healthy choices. Breakfast omlette throw together garlic, onions, peppers, eggs and then fold it over a cut up wedge of laughing cow cheese. For lunch a very easy tzatziki chicken. Chicken, bell pepper, onions, cucumber, tomatoes. Toss it with tzatziki sauce. You can put it on a pita, eat it without the pita, or what I like to do is RIP up half a pita and mix it in after the tzatziki is mixed in. For dinner maybe a salad with the spinach, onions, peppers, chicken. Etc. Maybe pasta or rice with anything on the list. The most important tip is KINDNESS be as nice to yourself as you are to others. When you are giving your self negative back talk, ask yourself if that is how you would speak to a friend and give yourself a break. I almost forgot. zero points does not mean zero calories. For instance, a banana is zero points but if you over banana you are gonna get yourself into trouble. EAT you need to eat within 10 below and 5 above your points level. If consistently under eat your body thinks there is a famine and holds on to every ounce of weight it can until the famine is over. Under eating and over exercising is a bad combo. If you stick to 5 below and 5 above it works better. for me at least. You are not alone in this. A lot of us join with that "last resort" mentality. But don't think that way. Take a nice before picture with a big smile because today is the day your life changed for the better. You are gonna get healthy, you are gonna be fit. You are gonna breathe better. You just need to give it some time. This is a slow process but it is a process that works. I'm excited for you taking this big step towards a healthier life. You might want to sit down and write yourself a love letter stating why you joined WW and what your long term goals are, how you will accomplish them (small term goals) and what you will be able to accomplish when you get there! I personally would like to be able to get up off the floor without having to hoist myself up on the couch like I am climbing Mount Everest. That is one of the things future me will be able to do. Last tip. don't hang out in the kitchen. Eat there, cook there, clean the dishes. But if it isn't kitchen related get out of there it is too tempting.

@infix Thank You! I have been off program for a few months, I had a knee injury and with the lack of exercise went my motivation. Sunday I started following my own advice again!

Are you drinking water as well? I find when I drink a lot of water it’s easier to lose.
by (6.8k points)
@oneal544, yes, I drink 8-10 bottles a day.
by (14.9k points)
@apfelstadt I wouldn’t think those items would be a problem then.
by (3.7k points)
@oneal544 me either. I drink DC in the morning, but after 1-ok I admit it, 3, I switch to water for the rest of the day. I haven’t had any issues losing (knock on wood. )

1. Set the goal of measuring your food with measuring cups and measuring spoons this week 2. However much water you’re drinking, drink more 3. Eat more protein, muscle burns fat! 4. Walk a few minutes after meals 5. Get a smart scale! It makes all the difference in the world. I have an iWellness3. 0 that links to my phone- so nice to know when I gain . 5lbs it’s water or muscle. It keeps me motivated knowing next week I’ll see the big numbers drop!

I don’t think so. I drink a ton of Diet Coke and I lose. Are you eating too many zero point foods?
by (4.8k points)
@keepsake there is a lot of salt in Diet Coke. Try for a few days and drink half your body weigh in Ounces. I promise you will lose
by (11.5k points)
Those of you who are drinking a lot of soda it is really bad for you are the chemicals in diet soda are worse than drinking all the sugar that's in regular soda. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do I haven't had soda in almost six years. Except for a sip of coke that I was given and it tasted terrible. I used to love Fresca I hadn't seen it in quite a long time since I had moved I actually bought one when I found it and the first sip was awful and I haven't tried again. You get used to not having it and it does make a difference
by (2.6k points)
@outturn Lockwood thanks for the encouragement. I was off the diet soda until I was stuck at home like everyone else. Actually had Diet Pepsi delivered. I have seen the research and what you write is true. For me, I crave sweets when I drink Diet Pepsi throughout the day. Another reason to quit! Climbing back on wagon
by (6.8k points)
@keepsake, I'm so confused on the zero foods. I eat several a day. Do I eat just one?
by (53.1k points)
@apfelstadt you eat them in healthy portions. I am on purple. The base for purple is 16 points. So I eat my zero point foods and use my points for healthy fats, bread, and desserts. The key to zero point foods is remembering that zero points does not mean zero calories. You need to be mindful, measure, and weight. For instance, a banana is zero points. But if you eat a bunch of bananas every day you are not likely to lose weight. But one banana, two in a pinch is just great.

Cut back on fruits maybe
by (1.4k points)
@fenestella how many fruits is too many? I usually have 3 a day . one after each meal
by (53.1k points)
@templet51 3 fruits is great.
by (10.4k points)
@templet51 I think they say 3 but my ww leader told me when I hit a plateau that I should start with cutting back on fruit.
by (6.8k points)
I don't eat alot of fruit. Apples mostly but I do eat alot of the zero point veggies. I'm very confused on the zero points!
by (10.4k points)
@apfelstadt they are ZeroPoints but you still have to watch portions
by (6.8k points)
@fenestella, right but there are so many zero point foods, how many can you eat in one day?

If you’re staying in your points you will start losing weight. Maybe add in 30 min of walking a day. I drink diet pop all the time and I’ve lost a lot on WW. But sadly I don’t eat chocolate because I can’t stop at one piece!

Remember a fat cell will fill with water before letting go completly. It can take a day or two for the scales to move again. In this time celebrating your non scale victories will help. For example I was so excited the day I could drive without my tummy rubbing the steering wheel

There’s a real thing called “diet coke dementia. ” Please stop drinking that poison. horrible stuff. Drink 1/2 your body weight in water each day or more. Track everything including the zero points foods. measure all foods. let your eye get used to what a serving size is. Zero points foods. even 0 + 0 + 0 will not equal zero if you load up on them.
by (4.5k points)
@midway 1/2 your body weight in ounces right? Like if you weigh 200 you drink 100 oz of water?
by (9.3k points)
@floppy11 Yes. ❤️

How important is having 3 meals and snacks a day? My norm as been coffee until about 2 lunch then a bigger dinner about 730. I am always under my points. Not great with water intake. No weight lost.
by (4.7k points)
@boylston4941 what time do you go to sleep? You’ve pretty much described my typical eating schedule & I never lose weight if I stick with that routine. Eating when you’re hungry (not at specific times) & intermittent fasting (skipping breakfast) is okay BUT where I falter is 1. ) not getting enough water 2. ) overeating at lunch or dinner cuz I’m starving 3. ) eating too close to bedtime 4. ) eating sugar or starches too late in the evening 5. ) choosing unhealthy options cuz their quick 6. ) completely skipping meals & not eating enough points I’m well aware that these things cause weight gain, but I fall back into these bad habits easily
by (460 points)
@carmel early to my bed/book/tv, lights out maybe 1130. So, you recommend eating w a schedule/more often? Starting w breakfast and nothing after when? Happy to give it another kick at the cam. Very frustrated.
by (4.7k points)
@boylston4941 I wouldn’t mess with your routine too much to start because it won’t be easy to maintain. Maybe just start moving dinner up by 1/2 hour each week and see how weight loss goes. Have water after dinner to curb snacking & brush/floss your teeth so you don’t feel tempted. As for breakfast I’ve started having a protein shake with cold coffee within 1/2 hour of waking up. My husband read a few studies that 30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up will fill you up & kick start metabolism (I think that’s what he said). I can’t eat eggs or meat as soon as I wake up- idea makes me nauseous, so protein shakes work for me.

Keep in mind sodas have a lot of sodium, I wouldn’t drink more than one a day! If you really want it, make it be your treat!

It's helps to get of soda even if it's diet. It also makes you crave sweets. Add lemon to water or cucumber.

A long time ago. on WW, leader told us that diet soda has so much sodium it becomes addictive. You Never aren’t thirsty. the sodium creates more thirst and thus the cycle! you keep drinking it to quench thirst and it actually creates thirst! In gave it up and now revel in flavored zero anything seltzer water. Try it, add fresh fruit (fresh lime to lime etc). See how your weight changes! Blessings

by (6.8k points)
@avow34516, I'm new to all this. What is the difference between Blue and Green?
by (3.5k points)
Green u get more points , based on your height , weights etc , so green I had 38 points , now I’m with Blue which is only 29 points , but more free food , eggs 0 on blue , 2 on green.

By stay within your points, do you mean just daily points? Many lose best when they eat most/all of their weeklies as well. Experiment to see what works best for your unique body I dislike diet soda do I don’t drink it. However, many do and they do just fine. As you can see, others have strong anti opinions. WW doesn’t prohibit them (or any food). I do know it’s not good if it’s your primary hydration source. Make sure you are also drinking water There is absolutely nothing with having a little chocolate. WW is all about balance Finally, bodies are unique complex machines and can be fickle with the scale for many normal reasons. Stress is a big factor in every cell. Sometimes our bodies just need time to adjust and catch up to our changes.

Not sure if this will help you but I drink a lot more water then I use to and noticed I was craving salty foods. I stopped losing as much and when I ask someone had me share what I was eating and it was the salt I was taking in. I was within my points. But the salt made my blood pressure go up and I was retaining the salt

I know soda isn't the best thing but. given our present situation, it's not the time for me to feel deprivation. I still drink 1 or 2 Cherry Coke Zero each day. But I also drink 5 bottles of water. I've lost every week since this all started. I feel it must be your food choices. If you want to show your food journal for a day, maybe we could be more helpful? I don't think the soda is stopping you from losing. Just my opinion.

It depends on how much chocolate. I use dark chocolate, for medicinal purposes :), but that is a lot different than a box of M&Ms. Staying even during this stressful time, I think is awesome!

Portion control when you add scroll down and see what size serving it is. usually the last number on the bottom maybe when it says chicken breast is 0 points you go ova board and eat 300grms instead of the recommend serving size. thats what I did

I’ll bet if you stop the soda you will be ecstatic that you did and after three weeks you’ll feel better than you have since before you ever started drinking that stuff  guaranteed. Go ahead, give it a try  three weeks.
