If you liquify it, such as for a smoothie it’s 3 points but if you eat it solid it’s zero.

Susan, why is that? I'm curious because I can have oranges for zero points, but my orange juice (that is 100% organic, it is fresh squeezed oranges) scans as 6 points!

@nihilism I think it has to do with fiber, juice is quickly digested, solids not so much.

Because you can drink a lot more juice than you can eat solid fruit. It takes 3 oranges to make a glass of oj.

@abortion10 Exactly! It's a WW hack to save us from ourselves. You can put a lot more fruit in a smoothie than you'd normally eat in one sitting. Lots of carbs in fruit! We're not counting them per se, but it adds up.

@infusible1682 you would consume a lot more fruit in a liquified state than solid fruit.

If you are on a plan we’re fruit is zero and there is no added sugar then yes I would count it as zero

I would go with 0. If it is only frozen berries it is zero.

Dont scan zero point items

Just to be sure check the ingredient label. Sometimes they sneak things in. As long as the ingredients are nothing but fruit then zero it is.

Zero if you eat them, if you put them in a shake, then you are supposed to count the points (the debate is endless) .

The thing about the scanner and calculator is the computer only knows the numbers. It has no idea if it’s fruit or cookies. General rule is if it’s on your zero list, check the ingredients. If there are no added sugars, fats or starches - it’s zero Brands that do scan as zero have been overridden in the database by WW

@bournemouth best explanation i sen on this. I get it but lots of new people do not and better than the don’t scan and they don’t know why.

Are you eating whole bags at 3 pts

So if I put frozen berries in a smoothie on green it should be counted as 3 pts even though strawberries, blackberries and bananas are zero points? Smoothie made with unsweetened almond milk

@permanence44694 that is true because you are drinking it and not chewing it. It takes more effort to digest it if it is the whole fruit and not blended. This was explained to me in a WW meeting a few years ago.
