I started back to WW this week with the Blue plan. I must be doing something wrong. I only lost 1 pound. Last time I started I lost 5 in the first week. Any recommendations?

You're not doing anything wrong. You lost weight ‍♀️ Last time doesn't matter. It's now that matters.

A long time ago I was told that if you lose anything more than about 2lbs a week it will be water weight or muscle. 1-2 lbs is a healthy loss per week. But maybe you ate too much salt or allowed for more carbs. That is where your body holds water.

I think the first week is a lot more water weight. I lost six my first week but now I lose like 1 to 2 a week

A pound a week is great, it’s a healthy weight loss and better for keeping it off

Zero point foods are all you can eat, still be mindful and go to those when you think you’re hungry. also, intermittent fasting works very well with WW
by (4k points)
@response fasting is definitely not for me. depends on the person
by (71.6k points)
WW guidelines do not endorse fasting.

@pervious I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to imply WW recommends it, but I do. I’ve lost almost 90lbs and am most successful when I’ve added IF into the mix.

But actually looking back thru emails, they do recommend it  on a certain level.

A loss is a loss. give it some time. It's the dreaded gain on that scale no one wants to see. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I do eat a lot of zero point foods and many days I didnt even use all my points. I would get close though. I also take a diuretic so if I do retain water that helps.

Your best friend will be patience. A pound a week is 52 lbs. a year. No small potatoes!
by (880 points)
@pell5938 patience is NOT one of my strongest qualities lol
by (4.3k points)
Diana, mine neither, but I'm working on it.

One day at a time, one pound at a time. I've been on a serious plateau for weeks/months but I am going to reach my goal eventually.

I didn’t lose a lot when I started. One pound a week average. I understand the disappointment. I felt the same way. But months later 40lbs lost I’m glad it has been a slow gradual loss. Hang in there. They add up.

Same thing is happening to me! In november I lost about 15 pounds in a month and it’s been about 3 weeks and I have lost maybe 1 pound.

How long has it been since you last did it? First time I did it I lost 12# the first week. The older you get the harder it seems. This time my first week was 3#.

Every time is not going to be the same. Things in your body change, like your age, which definitely affects how quickly you’ll lose. Did you add activity?
by (880 points)
@lockyer I tried. My resting heart rate is to high to begin with so when I rode my new recumbent bike it got up to 160. So I am trying to find exercises that will bring my heart rate up but to a normal high. Lighter activities.

@reiter try just walking. Walking is a great activity & you can go at your own pace. They even have walking workouts you can do in the house.

You may be retaining water due to hormonal fluctuations.

I found that each time you start ( believe me I have started MANY times) your 1st weight loss is less. Don't give up, keep in keeping on!

I only ever lost ounces, very, very , very rarely did I lose a pound a week. Took me a year to lose 20 pounds. It can be done

1 pound a week is great! Think where you would be in a years time! 1 pound of butter think how heavy that is . you just helped your body by taking it off! Congratulations!

Don’t compare this time with last time ! This is a new and unique journey. You’re blazing a new path ! So embrace it for what it is. A pound a week is really good ! Promise !

I remember years ago having a big loss on the first couple of weeks but this time (on blue)I averaged between 1/2 - 1 1/2 a week. I am 46 pounds down and keeping it off. It. Took me 6 months to get to goal weight--slow and steady! And its staying off

Try not to focus on the Start. Focus on understanding the program and staying with it

Count your points. Chicken and turkey breast and eggs have no points. Wish we could all go back for meetings. Hang in there, You can have a larger loss this coming week. This is a whole new plan.

My best advice is to not let that discourage you. Keep doing it! Some weeks fluctuate so that is normal.

You can't expect the same results each time you restart. A pound is great. It' just means you weren't bloated. First week is usually water weight. Give it a couple weeks and see what happens.

Don’t compare with last time. I had the thing happen. However with age comes slower loss. Just keep up the great work!

I’ve been on green since March 7th and have only lost 8. 6 pounds. I don’t feel like that’s much for 7 weeks, but was told it is average. I never use ANY of my weeklys either, so I have no clue what I’m doing wrong.

It’s designed to loos 1 to 2 pounds a week

So TMI. I struggle with IBS constipation REALLY bad. Well yesterday was the day that my miralax and my maintenance meds kicked in. So I got on the scale again this morning and I lost another 1. 4. So overall would have been 2. 4 lbs. Including the loss of all the stool. Lol.

That’s a win. You probably would have been 1-2 pounds up if you weren’t on WW. Trust the program, it works.

Don’t eat too many of the free foods in between meals and remember portion control- last week was my first week on blue and I lost 7. 5 lbs- lots of water too

Don’t ever compare your progress to anyone else - that includes yesterday-you! The goal of the program is . 5-2 lbs a week. You are right there

You’re not doing anything wrong. You can’t compare the results of prior attempts or yourself against others
