I have a question, but please no judgment. Has anyone mained weight loss while also getting sober? I fell off the sobriety wagon (on and off) around the time I started WW and now I'm a year in and 116 down and I'm trying to get firm in my sobriety again. But I could literally eat EVERYTHING. And I have today.  Any suggestions?
I have a question, but please no judgment.

If you have been following WW for a year then you have a good handle of your food choices. Lean on AA and if you need extra snacks, go to fruits and low point choices. Best of luck!

You have too huge battles but look how far you’ve come with your weight loss, determination is an amazing thing! Just remember you are doing it all for you. one day at a time. or one hour at a time. whatever it takes to get you threw! Try getting outside more now that the weather is improving, listen to the happy sounds of spring! Take care and be kind to your self!

Keep yourself busy. Do little things at a time. Clean one drawer. I feel better throwing things away.

Use the 12 steps only food. one day at a time. one minute at a time if is has to be. I used to promise myself. I will have that drink, just not this one. I use it with food too. tell yourself you'll eat what you want, but just not right now. 33Years and was a ww member. When all else doesn't work. prayer. He trandscends programs.

I started WW at the start of my sobriety. I’ve lost 60 lbs in One and a half years and definitely not where I want to be but I’m on my way. I found my biggest challenge was the dopamine effect I got from alcohol I found in sweets. I still battle sweets daily but find anything pickled helps curb the cravings. I also learned that drinking was a coping mechanism for me and I transferred it to food. I had to learn how to love myself. That’s a really hard thing to do when I never learned it as a kid. I struggle daily but September will be two years sober for me and I feel like I have a handle on the things that I need in my life. I lost friends, lost relationships, changed jobs, and made sacrifices to better myself. The hardest part is trying to figure out who I am by myself without alcohol. I know this isn’t an answer or a how too segment but give yourself time. When you’re ready for all of it to line up it will. I’ve been told that the things that are worth the most are sometimes the hardest to achieve. It’s true but it’s also so rewarding to see the positive effects of your hard work. I was able to really commit myself to sobriety when I realized my will to live was stronger than my desire for that next drink. I actually really enjoy life and I was on a fast track to death by drunk. You got this! You lost 116 lbs. I’m sure you know how difficult that is. It’s proof that you’re capable of being the best you!

Good for you for reaching out! I'm almost at my 1 year sober. Stay strong, you can do this. Activity, hobbies, journaling, NATURE if you can, music. are all things that can help you on this journey! Most of all, forgiveness! If you fall, pick yourself up and keep trying

As a mother of an recovering addict (I think) I always have to use that caviot, he has been battling his addiction for the past 10 years, but we think he is on the other side. He seems to have figured out what is more important to him then drugs, which I am told is the key. As a mother, it has been very difficult for me to watch and to wrap my head around. Alanon has saved my husband and I. It gave us tools which really worked, so I am going to make the leap to say that AA would do the same for the Addict/Drinker. My stepdad was an alcoholic. my heart is so heavy for all affected. it is a heavy burden for all who must walk this path. but it is possible to over come that I know! Good luck on your travels!

"Don't drink" is the same rule as "Don't eat"! The difference is, you don't have to drink alcohol to live, but you NEED to eat. What you need to do is differentiate between the addictive foods and the foods you MUST have to maintain good health. Make a list? Put the addictive foods down on the same list as your alcohol list, because believe me, these are the same! Addictive! Congratulations on your weight loss!

I am not sure about you but when I am losing weight on WW, I can not drink. Alcohol will put 5 pounds on me. I think it’s the sugar. But maybe if you realize scientifically what alcohol is doing to your body, that may help. Congratulations for trying to Stay sober. You really can do this.
