Just wondering if anyone on the program has dealt with non alcoholic fatty liver disease along with hypothyroidism, and still have had success losing weight? If so, did you have to increase exercise?

Many (maybe most) of us have something that makes this more of a challenge - Meds, medical conditions, age, menopause, etc. More challenging, maybe slow but never impossible. Patience and perseverance will always win. There are 3 parts to this journey. Mindset, Food and Activity. Many succeed without heavy exercise. None succeed without Mindset and Food

@spinode My son was told by the doctor that he had a fatty liver but there was nothing to worry about because everyone has fat on their liver

@teraterai no there's a difference with just that or having the fatty liver disease. It can actually be life threatening

@spinode correct.

@spinode I had a former student and his dad both die from it. It’s definitely serious

@lower that's terrible. My GI Dr said mine was in the second stage-Nash or something like that.

I have both and have lost 40 pounds since 1/7/20. I have been walking about a mile a day, so unsure what my weight loss would look like if I wasn’t walking. Sorry, that wasn’t much help.

I was just diagnosed w fatty liver. My doctor believes it is diet and genetic related. My father had the same issues and just lost about 75 lbs in the past two years. He is all good now. I just started WW a month ago and am down 5. 6 lbs. My doctor says I can do this and that if I change my lifestyle w my diet, I'll be all good. Not going to lie, it is harder at this point in my life- my whole life has been gaining and losing. But I am hopeful, I know I can improve but this is the first time I've seen the scale go down in 2 years. I am hopeful!

I have lifelong hypothyroidism and have lost 60 pounds (2 years- taking 8 months off in the middle) and am in my late 40’s . it’s slow. I admit to not sticking to the program 100% but it works! I do exercise on a recumbent bike and walk some and use hand weights but not excessively. I don’t push myself overly much with the exercise but do at least a couple days a week

I have both and I have been able to lose weight when I track religiously and add walking, aiming for 10, 000 steps a day.

Thank you all for your feed back. Definitely gives me a lot of hope. I started back last week, tracking and light exercise. Tried the program before but I didn't give 100 %, but now I know changes have to be made due to so many health issus. I'm not going to give up
