How many of us are upset that WW Chose to let our Guides go? I know I sure am. Maybe if enough of us complain they'll bring them back. One way I voiced my opinion was the questionnaire after my zoom meeting. Take the survey and tell them how you feel! Where it asks how they can make things better, Tell them to bring the guides back. This was my suggestion. "Stop Laying off/firing the Guides that the community of your weight watchers have come to Trust, Respect, and have built relationships with. They are not just guides and coaches, they are like Social workers and skill builders for the weak minded. They help us through the toughest of times. When you take that away from your PAYING customers, you make them feel as though you don't care and the company is all about profit. That's not what you advertise! We NEED them back"

Conversely, it is my understanding that some leaders were Furloughed - with the opportunity to be rehired when this mess is over. I do not think this was done without a lot of thought . Keep in mind all the studios that have been shuttered since mid March- rent and maintenance still has to be paid and I am pretty sure the Corp is bleeding money. I do not work for WW and have to tell you- I am kind of enjoying my Zoom workshops- not as many people all talking at once and I am hearing the message much better in a calmer setting. This is all my personal speculation and thoughts.

I am not a fan of the Zoom meetings - when the time comes and they don’t bring back meetings at studios I will be quitting WW.

@lamar1 I don’t like zoom either
by (3.8k points)
@stitching45 our zoom is always choppy and freezes. I prefer in person but I’m glad I get to see my group.

Zoom has been hacked with porn. not for me.
by (5.1k points)
Jeanie- wow- my zoom meetings early Saturday morning have been wonderful - hope you find what you need. Best wishes in your journey.
by (37.2k points)
@stitching45 I’m right there with you. Also I’ve heard so many people on these sites talk about how they canceled their membership during this time. If you’re canceling how can WW afford to pay employees. And I used to be an employee
by (1.4k points)
@longdistance49864 I’ve been part of many Zoom meetings both professionally and even church. It’s safe. Zoom is being used by most universities and businesses. I’m not sure how porn could be added to a meeting.

I thank you for all your responses. Yes Zoom is a great platform but there are some very upset guides/coaches out there. It's like getting ripped from your closest friends. We've all created bonds etc. They're closing studio's and Zoom doesn't cost much at all. They could keep the guides, they sell lots of other things in their shops and even in grocery stores. I think they should give the employees an option of being laid off and collecting or working. I'm sure there are some who aren't technical and have a difficult time with the zoom platform Let them take leave and the ones who want to stay let them stay.

I am not aware of any of my local leaders being fired. I see them on my virtual meetings. Some might have furloughed or been layed off to collect unemployment. Nothing right now is not black and white.
by (2.4k points)
@brendin I’m a ‘laid off coach’. Not for my benefit as I am still working full time for my full time employer but for WW’s benefit.

I tried using app to speak to someone three times and got disconnected! Then waited forever on 1-800 number a few times but had to disconnect!

I had read on another post that they won’t be opening many locations when this is over. They had to let go a bunch of employees unfortunately. Sad for those who work at and those who attend the meetings.

I am not. Because it's a business. If they were still making the same amount of $ they were before Co-Vid there wouldn't have to be cutbacks. Unfortunately, that is how things are all over right now--it's not them "being mean" it's reality.
by (13.9k points)
@landloper True. Bottom line- they're a business, not a charity. ‍♀️

@landloper what’s a guide? A leader?

I see so many post here where people have had to cancel their membership because they have been furloughed or laid off. This is a business if they are losing business they have to make decisions that I’m sure they don’t like sometimes in order to keep the business going. I hate that anyone, any where has been let go from their job or furloughed but that is our current reality in a lot of businesses. Give it a little time, hopefully the economy will jump back quickly.

I heard from a friend that there were two meetings for the guides last week. 330 and 4pm. All the 4pms were let go. Leaving just 7 guides for the major city I leave near and the surrounding area.

Not sure why they would lay staff off. You don't work, you don't get paid. I had a blast leading meetings and helping members but glad I quit. This could be the excuse to get rid of staff.

I don’t wish them I’ll I have a great fondness for the Filipino people having lived there 5 years. I just think it is wrong to send jobs overseas when people here need jobs

I’ve read the terms “fired” “furloughed” and “lay off”. What is the difference between these?
by (3.4k points)
@negatron5337 fired you aren't ever coming back, laid off you could get called back but have had your ties to the company cut, furloughed you are still tied to the company

Not about the guides. but I think WW should have discounted our monthly fees due to closing the meeting places Yes, it is about the money!
by (290 points)
@filomenafiloplume yep they should have!
by (1.3k points)
@filomenafiloplume call and ask how to cancel. They gave me 60 days extension at no cost. I will decide then. No meetings I am gone.

They closed all of our meetings except one and I would have an hour round trip. All of us at our meeting are seniors. I am leaving WW but NOT giving up. They will not survive. My daughter ❤ set me up on fit bit and will log my food taking in to account my daily activity .  to WW.
by (2.1k points)
@freehold723 how did you find out that your meeting place was closed for good? I have not heard anything about mine.
by (1.2k points)
@cwmbran our leader sent us all a good bye  text. I went to the website and went to find a meeting put in zip code. There were 0 were meetings were.
by (2.1k points)
@freehold723 thanks!
by (1.1k points)
@freehold723 did it not show any sites or just say 0 workshops for that site? Because everything is virtual right now, every location shows 0 workshops.
by (1.2k points)
Try zip code 75752 and 78758 you will see some that still tell you how many will be starting back up the others will show 0.

by (3.6k points)
They are the ones that do your weigh ins. On the Zoom platform you can still have a one on one with them and they look things up like maybe a new find someone suggests and show you where you can get it etc. They are very helpful.

Maybe we shouldn’t be “paying” customers right now. many I have spoken to have gotten reductions just by calling!

Most laid off workers will make much more on Pandemic Unemployment Assistance then they were as paid employees. Most will be called back to their jobs when WW is able to begin again.
by (1.2k points)
@stratosphere10 don't think WW will make it this time. Problems in the past but this is bigger.
by (3.6k points)
@stratosphere10, it's not about the money here. You're missing the point. I do understand they'll make more on unemployment, but some of them want to be here with you.

This might be a dumb question, but if we switch from studio membership to digital only membership, what actually changes? Obviously, no studio meetings, but can I continue going to Zoom meetings?
by (29.2k points)
Both my coach and guide were in my meeting tonite.
by (3.6k points)
@kofu3 Yes you would be able to because you already have the invite code. Is it allowed? I wouldn't think so but no one would really know.

Furloughed. Enables those to collect unemployment and obtain the Federal payment. It’s happening everywhere. We shouldn’t destroy company. Covid sucks big time.

by (3.6k points)
The person who weighs you when you come in. She's the one who asks you about your week. your one on one consultant.

I feel so sorry for all of the guides that were fired. All of ours were fired so I'm not sure what will happen to our workshop.
