Ok help!  Some Information may be TMI, so I apologize in advance.Ok help! Some Information may be TMI, so I apologize in advance. I have had several stomach surgeries due to ulcers. This last one actually bypassed some of my stomach and pulled up part of my small intestine so the end result is it takes me a very long time to feel full. I also have IBS among other things My question is, what do you use for a sweetener when you can't use artificial (It brings on massive migraines) and some of the 'natural' sweeteners aggravate my IBS. I get hungry for carbs and sweet snacks. Can't substitute fiber or fruits because that also causes diarrhea. Any tips? Thanks

Maybe call your GI doctor and get some advice and ask if you could speak to dietician.

Try honey because it’s a natural product and sweet. I too plain Greek yogurt with honey and a little granola and it’s great for a sweet treat.

Sounds delicious, but I Can't do Greek yogurt because I'm also lactose intolerant. And granola has too much fiber.

I use monk fruit sweetner, I have ulcers and colitis and it does not bother me in small amounts, but everyone is different.

We buy the Lancanto Monk Fruit sweetener from Costco, and also have tried the maple-flavored syrup (decent by watery). This is the first sweetener my picky husband has been able to tolerate, and it’s a game changer for dieting!

I make smart choices of my points to afford myself real maple syrup or honey and for me a little goes a long way. I do not like and have issues with any of the others choices out there but again this is what works for me!

I, too, have IBS and I can’t tolerate any artificial sweeteners whatsoever. Even honey aggravates it. I rarely eat food that requires sweetening, but when I do, I use real sugar and suck up the points.
