This is a rather stupid, superficial question with everything going on in the world now. But did anyone else buy a few cute new outfits in smaller sizes to wear to events that got canceled due to quarantine and now you’ve lost more weight and they’re too big? This girl here did! If this happened to anyone else, feel free to place your rant here so that I don’t feel so alone

Sure did. Trying to only buy 1-2 pairs of jeans in smaller sizes, but now even those are big. Cannot wait to be able to actually try on clothes and get a few more pieces!

I wish I could say I bought something in a smaller size! Not yet, anyway.

That’s good news and bad. Good that you’re doing so well losing weight, bad that you didn’t get a chance to wear the outfits. But. given the choice, wouldn’t you choose that over not losing the weight?
by (2.6k points)
@lonni yes, it’s a good problem to have. Some of that stuff was darn cute though!

Congrats on losing weight during quarantine!

@avie3444 my biggest hindrance is always my social life, and that went bye-bye!

@lucerne0 I know!

I totally hear you! I bought jeans that I wore a few times pre-COVID and just put them on for the first time the other day and they were too big! I was amazed I fit into them when I bought them a couple months ago! I’m not mad though, amazed, and a little disappointed I have to spend more money but it’s worth it!

Absolutely. My brother and sister in law bought me some super cute clothes back in January. They are certainly too big. However, she has offered to have a tailor alter them. Truly blessed.

One of the few upsides of the quarantine is that I am able to spend that awkward period between sizes at home in baggie sweats

List them for sale on Poshmark ‍♀️ I’ll even give you my code so you get $10 to shop with for new clothes haha.

That suck. I did buy a dress that's a little too big now. But I think I can have it taken in. I just ordered a cute summer dress and ordered a size down than I am in now

I finally justified replacing all of my work clothes after about 50 lbs down . and am now working from home until further notice. So I am now down another 15 and at goal, wearing my new baggy jeans to buy groceries.

I’m not sure I feel too sorry you. Just kidding but congrats on your weight loss!

Not I. I have a feeling that the other way around might be more factual. Bought a new outfit in a smaller size (which you were THEN) then went under quarantine, and that outfit no longer fits due to "Pandemic eating". Kimberly, actually congratulations are in order, for you. It may be a momentary issue for you, but lots of us would love to have that same issue.

I bought a formal gown in Feb to wear on a cruise to visit my son (who works on the ship) in April. The cruise was cancelled, of course, and now the dress is too big. Luckily, I had left the tags on it and was able to return the dress!

@otto16206 yay! Glad you could return it.

Yes! Bought cute spring clothes in January (sale on dresses at NY company) for the office. I haven’t been to the office since March and my cat doesn’t care what I wear. maybe I’ll get a few uses out of them in the summer.

I have a bridesmaid dress for a wedding that should have been 2 weeks ago. wedding is now next July ‍♀️ the dress is already about 2 sizes too big so I have to see if I can exchange it lol
by (2.6k points)
@infeudation748 congratulations on your loss ! I hope you can exchange it. Alterations are so expensive.

Congrats AND wear it anyway! Celebrate by trying on everything and looking in the mirror! You did this, no one but you! Be proud!

@kagu thank you! Lol I’ve definitely been doing that!

Try to return - one reason why I never remove any tags on clothing until it’s on my body and I’m out the door!
by (2.6k points)
@obscenity2 May Levine the tags are all off, unfortunately. With the coronavirus starting to spread, I cut the tags and washed everything immediately. And some of them wet from this online boutique that I love that doesn’t hav free return shipping anyway. I’m definitely going to do what you said in the future though!
by (29.2k points)
@lucerne0 I find that sometimes I but something in one season for another, but then I don’t like it when the time comes. However, I think return policies are going to change. If it’s too big, can it be altered?

Sell them on Poshmark! I know someone who does that all the time.

Yes. Jeez an event for 5/2. Now the dress may be too big, and too glittery for church when it reopens. I am 26 pounds to goal.

I'm in the UK and ordered an expensive (to me! ) made to measure, mother of the bride outfit from Australia to wear to my only daughter's wedding in Canada. It was one of my 'whys' for starting WW. The wedding ended up taking pace via Zoom. I wore my outfit, though it was already a little too big and i'll definitely need a new one when rescheduled celebrations take place next year!

Very surprised that the same happened to me! Even though it's only about 8 pounds since quarantine, I have been returning all week! Fortunately all my favorite retailers have been really good about returns. New problem is, can't try anything on, so buying and trying on at home is my only option and I have no idea what size I am now! Hope everyone knows, I am not complaining, I'm thrilled!

I have lost 50 pounds since January but havent been able to go clothes shopping due to not being able to try anything on and lack of money lol. So now I have no clue what size I really am and I just keep wearing my old clothes that are huge on me
