Is there a way to change the motion somehow for it to catch cars passing by too? If that makes sense. So when I’m notified, it shows the very end of the car. So is there a way to somehow make it catch it sooner or is that just due to the quickness of the car.

You could also get the arlo lights. set it up further ahead of the camera. then set a condition for when the sees motion, the camera starts recording

There’s always a little lag from detection to actual recording. especially with a car passing. You can up the sensitivity to 100%. you will also realize that the battery life will go down way faster than your other ones

@kial1614 it’s only for night time! We’ve had a lot of “new” cars roaming our town & a lot of break ins too so it’s just for then! I’m home during the day usually so!

@horta796 you could always move it to to get a better view. might trigger earlier and can get a better look. My main driveway one I had to pull down Saturday and charge it. It’s gets triggered way more than the rest. I arm mine from midnight to 9am

@kial1614 I keep wondering if I should move it too! Our house is brick and I’d hate to put holes in our window frame work in the outside since that’s about the only other spot to put it other than a tree! We have a couple ADT cameras and downstairs door & window sensors as well but got these cameras for extra coverage! I might have to try that though. Quite a few new cars without the in transit stickers with dates and no plates. And my parents were hit 4 times in the last 5 weeks. I’ve been doing 8pm to 8am. I have mine right under our front porch towards the back to catch any faces that may come into the porch but I have two there so maybe I should move one towards the front of the porch/deck.

@horta796 @kial1614 Lots of people put them in trees. They even sell a camouflage skin.

@sansom might have to do that. Assuming a WiFi extender would be good to get them.

If you have a Pro 2 or newer, running it full time with an AC power adapter gives you Arlo Foresight. You get 3 seconds of video from before the motion was detected. Otherwise unfortunately it is dependent on sensitivity and camera positioning

@terrie Thanksng I didn’t know that! So if I have it plugged into the power? I just got some recently so still learning stuff! I do have the pro 2!

@horta796 yep. But if it's outside, there's a specific outdoor cable to make the connector watertight

@terrie Thanksng okay! I will have to do some digging!
