Question

Arlo Ultra, any idea why my camera is giving me motion alerts and recording outside the zone I assigned it? I live on a main road and it notifies me of every car and records it. My battery life is terrible now and well for the money I would expect better.

Activity zones only work if plugged in to mains power

@vyse46298 thanks for that. Explain a lot and not a big deal it goes off but good to know is suppose too, kind of crazy for 650 bucks, false advertising in my opinion think I might be returning this system

The thing with Arlo Smart Activity Zones (on battery power) is that the camera will still detect with its PIR and will still record a video. The video is then analyzed by the Arlo servers and if all of the motion is outside the zone, it's supposed to discard the video and so you don't get a notification and you don't get a recording to your library. Unfortunately what this means though, is that your battery will run down quickly despite not having many recordings

@terrie Thanksng yea I have used almost 20% of battery since yesterday but I have the 2 spare on the charger so not a big deal if they get the job done, might move that front camera to the front of the porch over or beside the door might help some or if not will give me better coverage I think.
