Question

Anyone succeeded to use physical switch for turning the caneras on and off? (Some simple solution. ) As a dog owner I hate to use the slow app with multiple taps to switch armed off whennletting my dog out and then to back on after letting the dog back in. Any use for my philips hue switches for this?

On newer apple device if you press hard on the app icon it has “arm all” and “disarm all”

I guess you could use your Hue switch to power off the base station but I wouldn't recommend you do that regularly as you might damage the electronics

If you run smartthings, use one of their buttons

I use Insteon smart home switches and outlets.

If it is just one camera you need to switch off you can do that on the camera. Just click on the gearbox on the right side of the individual camera. On the next screen at the top is a device-on button. It is pretty quick and should be just as quick as using any other app. Slide it back on when he is back in. If more than one camera is involved you will need another solution.

IFTTT has these already set up for Arlo cameras that are linked to Alexa plus an applet that will disarm the cameras automatically at sunrise
