I’ve got 4 Arlo pro 2 and for the front door and driveway I decided to buy LED light 3000 lumen and a smart plug to active at night. My questions now is, have I done a good choice to use LED light instead purchasing Arlo pro3?

Yeah. 3000 lumens will easily illuminate the scene and make the Pro 2 go to color mode anyway. Sometimes the little spotlight on the Pro 3 isn't enough to light a large area and supplemental light is advantageous. The soon to be released Pro 3 Floodlight has 2000 lumens on battery power and 3000 lumens on full time power. That would be a good option and would give you 2K resolution video except you'd have to pay a monthly fee

That’s why I prefer to have the light so I don’t have to pay subscription plus 1080 isn’t that bad if it’s colour

I think if your concered about anyone entering your property leave lights on all night. Pick a few locations leave on and let cameras do the rest.

@plumbic7 I bought smart plug and it will triggers the light from the camera sensor using automation from HomeKit

@goshen46 which is fine but nobody wants detection. In the age of l. e. d lights you can burn a light or two for nearly nothing and if a prowler has a chance to your house that is lit well or another that is dark I would rather have lights on and not invite them in. Just my perspective
