Hey guys, We have purchased the Arlo Uktra 4K cameras. We have good internet connection for the cameras and they are probably 6 metres and 15 metres away from the base station at most. Problem: When recording movement like walking past the camera etc It is nowhere near 4K resolution, it’s not clear and you cannot make out a face, which is what we bought it for. The settings are on best video and the connection is great. it’s a clear shot when you stand still and look at the camera but that’s only at a distance of 1 metre away from it. Can this be fixed? Is this just the Arlo problem that hasn’t been fixed that I see on other posts? During the day the carport camera shows the car crystal clear but if you walk past it, your face will not be clear. There are only 2 cameras so I believe they should be 4K? It’s not even 1080p or 720p in my opinion. Night vision light is on also if this helps information. Any advice will be greatly appreciated  Thank you!

Did you try device settings on each camera in the app? My ultra system came with 4K turned off and you need to turn the feature on. Hope this helps.

@outwardly I have mate and still hasn’t made it crystal clear with movement. I’m just reading more reviews and finding out the 4K isn’t actually 4K, it’s not true to the statement which is my fault for not researching more. I have had someone trying to break into my house twice in 4 months now so I’d like to get a good shot of them. Before my dog does

@dahl7 I hear you there, I don’t use the 4k but got my system after someone shot my front window with a BB gun costing me around 1500 to replace and caught a guy trying to steal my trailer a few months. So figured it was time and I did like the ability to use micro sd to store video and small size. Hope you get your issue fixed soon, did you try removing them from the hub and reinstalling them I had connection with rear one and did that and removed battery and now works great

@outwardly I’m sorry to hear that, how annoying.! I have done some more research and figured out what it is! 1. When it was blurry I was connected to my phone provider which is different to my internet provider which in turn decreases the quality (dramatically) so I switched back to wifi and it’s clear again. 2. The bundle came with what I thought was the 4K subscription package (elite) but what I actually have is the (premier) package which in turn only records to the cloud up to 2k and not 4K. 3. I didn’t know about the local storage setup and how it works so I read more about that, I’ll be getting an SD card to store locally and that should record a clearer image! Thanks for you help mate

@dahl7 no problem and yea I found an128 GB micro sd card on amazon for 21 bucks just make sure it is the correct type for the hub.

I have an ultra but have only the 2k option premier subscription but go to Arlo community support and there is quite a bit of discussion on 4K viewing and recording. I bet you’ll find your answer there.

This sounds like a slow internet and/or network. What exactly are your internet speeds?
