Good Morning!  We are new to the Arlo world (we purchased the Arlo 2).Good Morning! We are new to the Arlo world (we purchased the Arlo 2). We only put them on when we go out somewhere, so during these times it is rare right now. Having said that is it worth it to purchase the monthly subscription plan? Does the app work better? I am just wondering if it is something I should be looking into so when we we finally do travel away for a week or so it serves it's purpose. Thanks in advance!

You get 30 days of cloud recording history and Arlo Smart rich notifications. You get activity zones off AC power and get to have more than 5 cameras per account (excluding Pro 3, Ultra, Video Doorbell). I guess you could try it for a month?

You can always plug a usb hard drive into your base station and the videos save to there and you can have forever. However you can only access those if you plug your hard drive into a computer. You can still access the past 7 days fron the app

Photo Preview of a person being detected, then you can view it enlarged before actually loading the video.

Once you tap the notification or Force Press/3D press on iPhone you get a bigger photo preview.

We are on our 30 day free trial. The app works much better with it. You get a preview of notofications which we love and it tells you motion or sound or person animal or package. Alot of cool features. However we still only can have 5 cameras. not sure how others are getting more than 5. Would love to be able too.
