Check which clarity it is set to- the higher the quality more battery used. If you set night vision and lower video quality and make sure brightness is 50% or less you will gain battery life. I have system lasting month plus recording 10 + daily. Note: The batteries in the kit are shorter life than the ones for purchase separately. Also the delay of receiving feed is to do with your wifi and router not the arlo. If you can pair the arlo cameras and the arlo box directly to your router instead of the router sending out an umbrella of signal that then has to connect via the router the arlo box and your arlo camera then send it to your phone/tablet. Note that not all routers/modems have option to custom pair devices. The other factor to consider is that Australia’s internet is not as fast and reliable as other nations (where advertising was created). Every location, every supplier every time of day that the arlo system is setup at will have impact on the quality and speed of your video feed. Plus the wifi internet speed package you pay for may be recommended for less users than you have connected (eg 4 users recommended but when you add up arlos, phones, tvs, tablets, printer etc you exceed that). This affects the speed and quality too. I suggest reviewing all settings and consider your internet supply and equipment as if issue is with wifi/internet it will not matter which product used. Good luck
