We just hooked the outside cameras to the weatherproof plugs so they are hardwired and hoping all goes well and it keeps them charged. Has anyone else decided to hardwire them and if so, have you noticed any benefits with by doing it like being able to do activity zones? Also, is it normal for there to be a lag time and is that do to my internet? I’m hoping by having them now plugged in that might help the lag time also. Once in a while the app will make me resign in and is that normal? It has only happened a couple of times in the past few months but I’m just wondering why. Thank you in advance

Lag is the typical Arlo nature. I used stock cord and silconed around it. yeah activity zones work now and if you remove the battery the camera will work to at least -20° F

I normally leave battery in unless it's gonna be super cold, makes battery swaps with my other camera easy since that battery is always fully charged.

@contactor im going to silicone around the stock cable too, better than spending $50+ for the outdoor cords

If you have Arlo Pro 2 or newer, you now have 3 seconds of pre-recording from before the motion detection event. You can also set up Activity Zones. And obviously no more recharging batteries. I'm envious of you being able to add permanent power

I'm surprised how long these batteries last. My main camera being the one that uses the most but even this winter has been changed 2x in 6 months.

Hardwired is the way to go. Activity zones, 3 second playback, no need to climb and charge are just a few of the benefits.
