So I made a budget but feel like we are spending so much money every month with $20 here, $20 there. I tried keeping track for February and we are at about $500 spent on “miscellaneous”. How do I cut this down? Kids are teens and we are at their sporting events a lot, admission to get in, snack stand all day long, etc. Sometimes we even need hotels, etc. I am putting over $2, 000 a month into envelopes already and I still feel like we are always broke.  Anyone else feel this way?

I’d suggest that if you can, bring your own snacks to sporting events. That right there can save you a lot of money.

100% bring your own snacks. You can't help the entrance fees, but even when we're in a hotel, I pack water, snacks, Gatorade, and breakfast. so we only eat full lunch and dinner. Frequent hotels. com or hotelstonight. com and get great discounts. No more CVS runs (ok that's me) - go to the $ store instead. And lastly, sinking fund for travel.

I'd make a budget based on your extracurricular/sports schedule for the month ahead.
