As February comes to a close, is anyone else feeling defeated this month!? We tried envelope cash for our spending money. We each had $100 to last two weeks for our "extras". Both my boyfriend and myself blew through it in a week. definitely a wake up call on our spending habits. Our Losses: - Prius car registration due ($450. Washington State yes it's very high) - Prius needed new tires ($550. non repairable nail in 1 and all tires below 30% tread) - Failed miserably at envelope cash - We made a small error when filing our taxes and after the correction were getting $2k less back that now pushes our debt pay off goal back 3 months Our Wins: - Paid off both balances on our IPhones - Currently have $400 in our sinking fund to help prevent these issues in future Now to get back on track and hope March is a little more generous to us!

You still won! This takes time! Be patient. Takes time to break those old habits. I’m several months in & still struggle. I’m trying the cash envelopes & a very tight budget this next month. I’m not allowing myself to mess up! You got this! You can do it! Look at the wins & the progress you’ve made. And hey! You recognize where you went wrong. Lesson for the next month. You’ll get better & stronger as time goes on!

I would say it was a win and a loose for us. We saved our $1000 for emergency fund and funded some sinking funds, got current on bills but we ended up spending our emergency fund so we need to replenish it and start again.

I had to put new tires on my Camry, but I knew it was coming! We were just in Washington this last week and a lot of stuff up there can be expensive!

Concentrate on your win and choose something to aim for. Big changes are made by small victories that become habits.

I wouldn’t say you failed miserably at the cash envelopes when you’ve learned something from the experience. You just brush it off, adjust where adjusting needs to be and move on. You can’t move forward if you don’t make mistakes and learn from them

Have you tried just giving yourself $50 a week instead of giving yourself the full $100 may be easier so it's not there burning a hole in your pocket to spend I know if I took that amount out I'd be more likely to spend it if I go week to week it's easier. Here's to March being better x
