Anyone else just don’t getting the envelope system ? I made some pretty ones and I’ve tried to use them but I don’t see them working. We get paid twice a month. And I split my bills everything is due Between Paycheck 1 and two I pay with paycheck one! And everything due between paycheck 2 and 1 I pay with paycheck 2. I hope that makes sense. Then I budget the leftover for food, car gas, and any extras that might pop up! The rest of there is any left over I move to savings or give an extra payment where I know we can use it. Anyone else doing it different than the envelopes? I feel like I’m hindering my savings ! No envelopes means it’s hard to do the fun challenges like the $5 dollar challenge. Idk. I’m weird!

I do cashless. I still budget out into categories but the money stays in my checking account. I created a spreadsheet to track how much is in each budget/envelope. I've found other ways to save money aside from the $5 challenge. In February I still managed to put $960 into savings including my sinking funds.

I budget just how you described. I only pull out cash for my fun money for the week. I like using debit for gas and groceries, and all of my bills are on autopay.

I don’t use cash. I buy most of my groceries online or using Walmart pick-up. I track the various categories in my budget binder.
