Need advice.  I received an email yesterday that my credit had been pulled thanks to Credit Karma.Need advice. I received an email yesterday that my credit had been pulled thanks to Credit Karma. I saw an inquiry from Verizon . I have cellphone service with Verizon but I did not request a new service and my bill is on auto pay. This morning I found a charge for Pizza Hut in Florida on my credit card ( I live in NC and would never purchase pizza on a credit card). I called and requested a new card and filed a fraud report. I am going to call all the major credit bureaus and “freeze” my credit. Does anyone have any other advice?

I would also contact your bank and see what they recommend!

A couple years ago I had someone open a Verizon account and get a couple of IPHONES. I don't have Verizon and after how they treated me I will never have one. You need to call and see if there is a open account in your name or madien name. Then start the fraud process.

^^^^^yes^^^^^ all of that advice. Get the inquiry removed or put a note on your credit so that the inquiry is explained as not being yours - ask each of the credit agencies to remove it if you think it was done by the person stealing your credit card.

Put a fraud alert contact phone number on your credit report. If a creditor pulls your credit they have to call your phone number and verify that you are in fact the one applying before they give any funds or anything.

Get a credit monitoring company and file a police report. Contact your bank to make sure they are aware and watching for any fraudulent actions

Change all your online passwords. If they have enough info about you to pull your credit and use your card they likely hacked something somewhere.

I would call Verizon too and make sure nothing was purchased.

When you freeze, write down all that info where you won’t lose it. I did this and it was still frozen 7 years later - I didn’t remember any passwords I had made or anything I needed to unfreeze it.
