Hey all!  I am new to budgeting and am trying to figure everything out.Hey all! I am new to budgeting and am trying to figure everything out. Im sure this has been addressed before but I couldn't find it :/ Heres a question: a lot of my grocery spending is for my 1yo son - how do I use cash envelopes for that? I don't want to be someone who does 2 transactions at the register. I was going to do a baby envelope and a grocery envelope but I'm not sure if I should put some of my baby money into the grocery envelope? He is dairy intolerant so we have special milk for him, and we like to buy better quality food for him (organic etc). Also, I like to buy certain things off of amazon for him (baby proofing supplies etc), how does that work? I try to shop around- so ill look at prices on walmart, amazon etc but if amazon is cheapest, do I deduct it out of the envelop and then put it back into bank account? Thanks!

Roll it into one envelope for grocery. Don't make things too complicated

Also, for online, I would personally have an envelope and allot yourself 300 (just as an example) per week. We have 2 bank accounts. I would use one specifically for that. So just put 120 or whatever the amout you would use for groceries online in that account and keep the rest in your cash envelope if that makes sense. That way you have a firm grasp of what your spending online.

One grocery budget should still work, just keep in mind how much you will be spending on your son and then your regular stuff. I prefer self check out because sometimes I do need to separate my kids things with ours and for other reasons. It just makes it easier for me and I don’t have to bother anyone at the register, lol. If you order something online with debit/credit then just deposit that money next time you go to the bank, but keep track.

I roll it into 1 cash envelope. FYI I don’t do organic nor the name brand, baby as healthy as can be. I budget his food as well
