I have and I didn’t mind it but I also went in knowing that I was paying for a budget airline. You do pay though for add-ons during booking. So your seats, bags (if you need a carry on) etc cost extra. Even with those charges it normally was still a lot cheaper to fly. I’ve also flown sun country and didn’t mind it either. Sometimes spirit will have long layovers so that’s something to take into consideration when booking. Also, if you do plan to fly a lot with them, I thought their membership fee was worth it for the large extra discount I got when I flew. The first time I flew with them I paid for it with my flight and still paid less money than all the other airlines.

@shamrao ^^^ this. I also don’t mind spirit but I keep in mind how cheap my flight was. I bring a backpack and that’s it and sure it’s not the fanciest service but it’s only a couple hours and then it’s over. The savings is worth it to me

Southwest only for us. You get your carry on and 2 FREE checked bags. Last Spirit flight they lost our items.

Cramped and claim they are cheap and then try doing on all these extra fees. Make sure your not in a hurry or have to be anywhere in time! Don’t be hungry or thirsty if you don’t want to spend because they will charge you for an ice cube even! Try something else if possible

I did once and vowed I’d never do that again. So far I’ve stuck to it. The worst

I fly them several times a year and have no issues. I think if you learn their system It is well worth It. If you know going into It that there is a charge for food and drink, you go prepared and you are not disappointed. The seats are not that bad. Again it’s about being prepared understanding their system. I have never been delayed or cancelled. Good experiences. And I fly to Florida 3-4x a year.

I did and honestly you are better off with another airline. By the time you are done paying for all the extras you end up paying the same as any other airline. Aside from that there is no space and feels cramped and they delay flights and have many cancellations

My boyfriend and I flew from New Orleans to Vegas and back with spirit. I researched everything I could about it before I booked so I was prepared for the tight spaces, extra fees, and all that. I have no complaints. It was the most affordable for us and was a smooth ride. I’d book with them again honestly.

Bring the right size bag for free personal carry-on and that’s it and you’ll be fine.

Spirit is fine. If savings is your goal then do it. It’s not bad really. Quite honestly the rest of the airlines are mediocre at best.

I fly twice a year with my kids to visit family and often spirit is the best deal. I've absolutely never had any problems whatsoever! They do make you pay to choose your seats at the time of booking but I've sent stopped doing that and when you check in before the fly I've never had us sitting separately and it saves $15 a ticket. my home airport also has good deals with allegiant and frontier as well but I honestly think the prices on Spirit are the best and the airlines are pretty comparable. I think it's worth having a direct flight then having to do layovers with kids

NO. You pay for everything. You pay for your seat you pay for your bags you pay for a drink. Our flight was canceled and no one told us until we were at the airport. Horrible airline. Only southwest now.

You have to pay for luggage and for your seat. It ends up being almost the same. It's fine for a flight that is short but I don't recommend anything longer than 2 hrs. The seats are so tight and don't recline

We fly them alot. Even with a checked bag and seat selection. the price beats most flying into or out of Orlando which is where we go normally. Doesnt most charge for bags now unless you have their credit card? Seats are crap. but the flight is 2 hr 3o mins to MCO and it's fine.

I flew them and had no problems. I would fly with them again. Just pack light.

Worst airline ever! If you go with them, make sure your flight doesn’t get cancelled and travel very light.

It’s seriously the bare minimums but worth it if you’re flying shorter flights. As with every flight, check, double check, triple check the flight for changes. I’ve never had an issue with them canceling or having a delay.

Their customer service is awful! I just got back Monday from a trip and they lost my luggage. They did absolutely nothing to find it, I had to constantly call/post on social media to get them to talk to me. Lost luggage happens but customer service goes a really long way in my book. They wouldn’t refund me the money we PAID to check the bag they lost or agree to deliver it to me when it was found until i fought with a supervisor for about an hour. i would never recommend them to anyone

I use spirit if I just need a quick weekend with my backpack and don’t care where I sit. In that regard, it’s worth it. I went to Florida for a long weekend including a rental for $135 round trip. You have to watch the deals.

Yes, but once they didn’t have a pilot show up and didn’t have another flight for 24 hours. They offered to put us up in a hotel and give us a small food voucher but wouldn’t pay for a cheap rental car for me to drive back home when I had to work in 18 hours.

I used them once when flying MSP to Delaware. No problems, my friend did the booking. But the rows were kinda close together. But for a cost effective trip, spirit was good!

My brother is a pilot of spirit. Just keep in mind a backpack/small duffel that fits under the seat in front of you is the only thing that is free.

Go southwest. Allowed to checked bags and a carryon. Other flights will nickel and dime you.

I was scared when my husband told me: I found a roundtrip with Spirit for less than $500 for both of us  My sincere opinion: try it. As long as you know how to avoid extra charges, you will be fine . 1. Print your tickets at home because they’ll charge for that at the airport. 2. Check-in on line (another charge for that) 3. Pack light. Make sure your personal item is not your purse. ( they allowed only one personal item) 4. Bring snacks and an empty water bottler to fill at the airport. Water is $3 5. Downloads movies in advance. 6. Bring pillows for neck and back. Seats are not bad, but for a 4 hour flight it was needed. Customer service was great, they accommodate us to seat almost together  Give it a try ✌

The seats aren't comfortabe, you are super close to your neighbor. Honestly I did the same thing to save money but you end up spending just as much cause there are so many $ add on's . wasn't worth it to me. I even just did a backpack for a long weekend to try and save on the checked bag.

Horrible experience. Flight cost is low but you pay for carry ons and checked bags, and drinks such as your soda and coffee you pay for as well. Also they over booked our flight and didn’t tell us and we got bumped to an afternoon flight.

Don’t do it! Worst airline ever! The seats are very uncomfortable and they nickel and dime you!

It’s great as long as you know what you’re getting into. It’s a budget airline. They are designed to get as many seats as possible into the space, so it might be more cramped than you’re expecting. If you want a specific seat you’ll have to pay for it. If you want to 100% make sure that everyone sits together you’ll have to pay for that when you buy tickets, but last year we bought tickets at different times and we checked in with an agent instead of the kiosk and they were able to get us seats together. You get one personal item free but it has to fit under the seat in front of you. There’s actually a video somewhere on their website showing a man and a woman packing a bunch of different clothes into a bag that would fit the size. Doesn’t take into account toiletries thought  If you’re flying with kids you can still gate check a stroller and car seat for free. We are a family of four and my husband is military so he gets two free checked bags, so we all get a free personal item for each ticket, a diaper bag for the baby and two free checked bags. I guess bottom line; if you’re willing to sacrifice convenience to save money then go for it. ☺️

If your not in a hurry and its just you flying it's ok. But Will add up because you have to pay for bags. I have never had a flight with them that was on time out of 5 flights. Issues flying my unaccompanied minor with them too. And seats are a tight fit if ya gotta booty

Only do it if your flight is short. Your bag has to be under 40 pounds or it’s considered heavy and there is an extra fee. You only get 1 carry on & it has to meet the size requirements. Otherwise you’ll be paying another fee. The seats are very uncomfortable and you have to pay for water. No free refreshments & snacks like the other airlines. I was floored when I found out I had to pay $3 for water.

I fly them often for a weekend getaway. We take backpacks only and out own snacks and drinks. Don’t expect any frills, lol.
