Does anyone use meal kits? We spend so much money eating out when I'm too tired, or my husband is too tired to cook.

We loved PLATED but they went out of business  we used them for like 3 years They were the only one that you could choose 3 meals everything else is 2 or 4 We have done homechef (very meat and potatoes “normal” food) and HelloFresh and the Martha Stewart one as well. We love the Martha Stewart one but it’s a little pricey

@malamut Dinnerly does 3 meals and you choose how many servings. Plus they let you pick from a bunch of options.

@weymouth I recreate so many recipes . I seriously know that the only reason I am even remotely good at cooking and creating a meal is because of all the meals i did through Plated. I tried so many things I wouldnt have normally ever attempted to make

I’ve used HomeChef. I liked it & many of the bloggers have coupons. Our local grocery store also sells the meals to buy in store VS getting them shipped.

We use Every Plate and love it. We do it for 2 people 5 days a week right now. It costs about $58 a week but so much cheaper than going out! They also have an option for 3 or 4 per week.

We tried them and we had a bad experience of most of our food was rotten not worth the money in my opinion. we have found planning per week and doing easier meals on work nights saved us so much eating out money

When I was going through some training videos for my home business I came across one that really struck home with me. When you do cook - cook freezable meals for two or three days then you dont have to worry about down the road as much. You're already cooking so why not put yourself ahead of the game. Then when you are too busy or too tired you can just pull an already prepared meal out of your freezer and pop it in the over and yoire ready to go. It's been an amazing time saver.

We use EveryPlate and enjoy it! It cuts down the amount of meals I have to plan a week and makes us try new things. Personally, the portions are small on some meals, but we’re trying to eat more reasonable portions anyway. $40 a week for 3 meals.

@weisman for 2 people or 4?
by (3.8k points)
For two people. $40 is also including shipping. $5 a serving plus $9 shipping.

I have tried Sun Basket, Home Chef, and Hello Fresh. I did them for about a year and stopped. Sun Basket was pricier but I like that they sourced organically and the menu options were creative. Unfortunately I received damaged or warm food one too many times, which was unacceptable. Hello Fresh was decent, no complaints. Home Chef didn’t have enough menu variety. The reason I stopped with them altogether was that my husband does Ironman triathlons and needs sooo many calories and I was having to cook extra food to bulk up his meals which made the “ease” of them totally not worth it. If you’re both trying to eat smaller portions they would be easier and more economical.

I use Hello Fresh and love it, for when we get bored of our normal dinners! They have more variety too now. I you're a real foodie, it may not be the service for you. It's perfect for me and husband:)

Hello fresh is great, I have codes too if you want to try a box. I haven’t had a recipe yet that I haven’t liked

Hello fresh is amazing, but Dinnerly is cheapest that I’ve found in the US. It’s been a bit since I’ve compared prices though

We used Hello Fresh and had a good experience! But the cost wasn’t work the convenience. It also took me longer to cook those meals than to just make a simple meal for us.
