I figured I could trust your guy's opinion since your's would be a real review lol What kind of bras do you like or where? I'm sick of Victoria Secret. I don't mind spending a pretty penny but they're just not the same quality like they once were. They also simply don't last long without coming apart. Suggestions? Thanks  I live in the US, California for those who were wondering

Get fit first. most women are in the wrong bra size therefore they don't like them or spend too much. Nordstrom. com has a fit guide you can use and a variety of styles for all budgets to choose from.

Aerie! I’ve been getting bras from them for almost ten years now. Cute, affordable, and I love that they’re very body positive and don’t photoshop their models.

It really depends on the size or if you have breast implants or regular boobs because when you have breast implants you really have to try them on because they’re perfectly round. Which means either the side isn’t going to fit right or something‍♀️

If I'm being honest, I haven't worn a bra in 9 weeks lol. stupid quarantine. But when I do wear one, I wear Werner's from Kohl's. They don't have any wire but support and the pads actually stay in place when washed. They aren't sexy AT ALL but they work for me and my life. The straps are convertible so I can wear them with a racer back tank or normal shirt.

@surra347 that's awesome! Remember to get a few unpadded last bras for you. A good tip would be to buy a fun bra once every three months and 1 good bra every other month. Rotating them to make them last

Walmart. But, check the tags. A brand you may not know the name of may say in the sewn-in label, "A division of ___" A bra saying that it is from a Division of Maidenform means they're using the same pattern and the same fabric as the bigger brand bras. They're just not spending the money on advertising or buying space at more expensive retail stores, hence the lower price. A 5x5 display in Walmart is cheaper than a 5x5 display in Kohls. But they want to protect the Maidenform Brand name so they create a division to sell through and customers usually only see the division's brand name on all the packaging so they're non the wiser.
by (1.2k points)
@niple this is interesting!
by (690 points)
Sometimes you may also seen a "Licensed By. " That means that neither brand owns the pattern/formula, they just buy it from the actual owner or the factory that makes it. Some factories have in house patterns or formulas. That could also be a reason why the bigger brands division is in a cheap store. They bought the ability to use the for a pattern for 10 years. Produced it in their major factories and sold it in the expensive store for 5 years. Got access to a better pattern but don't want to have wasted the money they used on the license (even though they've probably justified the cost). So they keep producing it in cheaper factories and send it to cheaper stores to make whatever profit they still can. You may have also heard of Private Labeling. The easiest example of this is when you see store brand food products. You see the Kellogg brand Cereal right next to the Grocery store brand. If you check the Made In and Distributed By info on the boxes their usually the same, meaning they were made by the same factory for two different brands. Sometimes the grocery store changes an ingredient to make it cheaper to make hence a quality difference. No Advertising+Cheaper Ingredient+Cheaper Product+No need to pay for Retail Space since they own the store=Cheaper Consumer Price.
by (690 points)
Private labeling is a big thing in the cosmetics industry. There was a thing about a Drybar hairdryer a few years ago. It looked the same as a 100-200 dollar cheaper one. Turns out, neither owned the patent for the hairdryer. They happened to use the same factory to make it and just changed the colors and printed their name on it. Drybar payed for the featured in-store space and ads in magazines and put that cost into the dryer. It was silly. Unless its a Dyson there aren't many variations on a hairdryer. It's also why you see a lot of makeup dupes that seem suspiciously similar. If you look further into the brands they are almost always owned by the same parent company. Usually Coty, Estee Lauder, or Loreal. The products are usually the same or the same to a degree.

Freya and Panache. A good bra is one thing I will drop $60 on without batting an eye!
by (2k points)
@doviedow1 i see nothing wrong for spending on quality. It's better for the environment cause we're not throwing it away After short use
by (2.1k points)
True! Plus when you really love a bra you will wear it until it’s realllllllly done! So you keep it all the longer!
by (2.2k points)
@doviedow1 I’m a Panache girl too! I won’t wear any other brand now. Discovered Panache when I went to a specialty shop for an actual fitting and it changed my life. I’d never worn an actually fitting bra before then. I’m in Canada so I have to order them in. Usually between $80-100. But I still have and wear the first Panache I bought 5 years ago.

I bought mine from Somas. They're pricy but when you get a good sale they're not bad. I had been looking for one that gives good support (I'm a 36-38DD). I previously used VS but also had found that the ones I used (tshirt bras the 2 for $50ish) quality had gone done a ton.

@bisk They have padding and are kind of like a sports bra, but not super tight. I like them because they look good under t-shirts or any other shirt and they're comfortable. I'm not super large chested, so they're okay for me. I'm not sure how they would do for others; however, I received my first one as a gift from a girlfriend who's larger chested than me.
