It took me a couple of years to save 3 months of living expenses but now my company is closing. I’m still scheduled to work this weekend (hopefully). I’m thankful that I have some money saved (thanks TBM & DR families) but now that it’s in the bank, I don’t ever wanna spend it (any of you know what I’m talking about? )  I’ve been applying & sending resumés online. I hope I don’t have to be out of a pay check before getting another job

I hope you find something you love soon. In the meantime, you can quite possibly make good money, doing DoorDash and or Grubhub, depending on your market.

Can you get unemployment to help out while you look? I know a number of people making more on unemployment than they were working.

@hoot758 2 of my coworkers who got laid off first were approved but the other 2 weren’t. Idk what criteria they have to meet when they didn’t have other side jobs.

Apply for unemployment and reach out to your local job center. They can help you with your resume and provide job leads.

@behring I plan on doing that the moment I get a pink slip. I’m still “employed” until I hear from HR. My next shift is not until Saturday night.
