So my fiance told me he only eats a slim jim & drinks tea/soda/water etc. During the day at work  My question is, can anyone give me ideas on what he can bring that won't cost a lot and that he can keep in his truck? He works for our county driving all day, a lot of times he can't stop places for lunch, he doesn't have access to a microwave or fridge, they don't have a designated lunch time because jobs vary from day to day. We're in Fl too so if he's outside the truck working the inside gets really hot.

Insulated lunch cooler with a reusable ice pack or check out bass pro/cabellas and see if they have a mini crockpot he could plug into the cigarette lighter in his truck! Or a converter and he could use a regular lunch crock for hot lunches! It heats up pretty quickly and can have lunch completely warm in about an hour or two!

@marcus71 the county banned things like that after a co-worker set a county truck on fire

My boyfriend works in the bush so for Christmas I got him a lunchbox/container that plugs into his truck and takes about 1/2 to warm up food! I paid under $40 on amazon and he loves it

@progenitive I looked into that and told him about it but the county banned those. A coworker set one of the trucks on fire with it. I thought that would have been perfect though.

My husband has a similar type of job. We bought him a good insulated lunchbox and add ice packs. In @marcus71 we also freeze him a Gatorade to have in the afternoon. I typically pack him sandwiches or a hefty salad with some snack items like trail mix, peanuts, beef jerky or chips. Our area has a few different gas stations that have microwaves available for anyone to use and that might be something to look into.

FYI- get a small cooler from camping section at Walmart instead of the lunchbox designated section- they are a LOT cheaper.

What about PB&J? They don't require refrigeration and are quick and easy
