What would you do?  I am trying to close out January and our numbers are not matching. What would you do? I am trying to close out January and our numbers are not matching. Miko says to let it go, and move on to the next month, but it’s $1000! I have redone it 4x, tracked all our income, money left over, and expenses out. (Only expenses not tracked are hubby’s cash, and he says he did not spend $1000 in cash) I’m frustrated, exhausted, and concerned we lost $1000. Should we move onto to February and see if it shows up? Suggestions? Ideas?

It would drive me crazy to just let it go. Shit. I am off $1. 03 and it's driving me crazy! I have no idea where that is coming from and I am ready to just rip my hair out lol Hopefully you can find out what's going on

As long as bills are paid, just let it go and start fresh in Feb. The frustration isn't worth it!

I would just let it go if everything is paid up. Is it possible you double counted income that was transferred or something?

If he didn’t spend the full $1000 ask him to give you what is left so you can at least account for a portion of that $1000.

Maybe you double counted something somewhere. Like your cash vs checking expense tracker. How much cash did your husband pull out in January?

Is your spending calculations in the where did my money go worksheets off or your actual balances?

So you have no idea how much cash he takes or spends? If you keep having this issue all the effort you’re putting into this will have been for nothing. He needs to be honest with you and on board. 1K is a lot of debt repayment!

Hubby’s cash should still be tracked. Not what he spends it on but how much he has.

I wouldn’t be able to let it go either. Is it your EF or checking cushion? In a normal month do you have $1000 left over after bills are paid and gas/groceries bought? Is it in an envelope somewhere? I would put it away and come back in a day or two with blank paper and start from scratch again. I hope you find it!

Was this $1000 maybe for cash envelopes? If so, I once double counted it (when I pulled it from my acct and when I spent it throughout the month). Could it be that?
