Hey Everyone, so I just had a baby. just came home he was in the NICU for 45days. Doctor recommends not putting him in daycare anytime soon due to his premature immune system. We're trying to figure out switching shifts but with my husband's job we can't guarantee he'll be home on time since he's does alot of driving between job sites. Do you guys have any suggestions for stay at home positions? Thanks in Advance!

I don’t have anything to offer, but kudos for trying to protect your baby. I’m a NICU nurse and my hat is off to all the sacrifices NICU moms and dads make.

I’ve heard that Amazon has home based positions. Or virtual assistants. One of my SIL works customer service for Coca-Cola from home. She has good benefits too.

We where in the same place 9 years ago. We had a great neighbor that would keep our baby on the days my husband I both worked ( only a day or two a week)

Side note: do you have someone who can help watch baby? Our youngest spent a week in the NICU but stayed with my mother until he was 5 months old. I went back to work when he was almost 10 weeks old. Prayers for you and baby.

I’m not sure if Care. com is an option for you. Having someone come to you instead of taking the baby to daycare. I had twins at 27 weeks and they spent over 2 months in the NICU. Fortunately (but not for the budget) I was fired from my job 2 weeks before the babies were born. I was able to stay home while half heartedly looking for a job. They started preschool just before they turned 2. Is your doctor recommending the synagis shots to help prevent RSV?

I will say as someone with a former 26 weekend, give yourself some time to get settled and to make sure all your beginning appts are done. Then you will have a good idea as to what your needs will be to make part time work well. :)
