Question

Question!  I’m saving cash for my girls trip in July.Question! I’m saving cash for my girls trip in July. But I don’t feel comfortable carrying around that kind of money during my trip. I also don’t want to deposit the money into my checking because my husband and I share it and I don’t want the money getting mixed up. For the people who don’t carry cash, what would you do? Open up a new checking? Buy prepaid cards?

Reusable gift cards would work too

Check AAA when I worked for them and they had reloadable travel credit cards. You get 2, a main one and a back up. The funds are yours. They are like travelers checks but a card.

I would open another debit account for this purpose. That way you can cancel the card if it gets lost or stolen. A gift card is treated like cash and there is no way to recoup your losses. AAA sounds like another good opition, but check and see what opitions you have in case of theft or misplacing it. Enjoy the trip :)

Use the hotel room safe and just take out what you need for that day.
