I told you guys earlier in the week about my gift card surprise, I have ANOTHER surprise now! I had a job interview last Friday, same company but a different position. Yesterday, a human resources rep called me with the official offer! It would be a lateral move, no pay increase, BUT there are promotions and raises available in this department. I'd have to go back into the office full time for a while, whereas right now, I work from home full time. I've peaked in my current department and I know I'm really just doing it for a pay check right now. I have nothing more to learn, I've literally done everything. EVERYTHING. Working from home full time is not good for my mental health and I am ready for a change. It would be about $100 a month for public transportation, but it is worth it to me to make that sacrifice for my mental health and for my future. I relate so much to the new manager and I just felt like this was an opportunity that I could not pass up! With that being said, my current attire is sweatpants, sports bras, and t-shirts  does anyone have any recommendations on reasonably priced dress pants? I've lost 80 lbs. since I last worked in the office and all of my pants literally fall off of me

Congrats on the new job! I like Kohl's for clothing and also don't ignore your local thrift shops. You can sometimes find good stuff at Goodwill and other places like that. Good luck!

I would spend more than $100 a month for my mental health. Are any of your larger clothes saleable? Congratulations!

Good for you! It might be just the change you need. Shop sales, Ross, try Kohl’s. If it wouldn’t kill you . thrift stores sometimes have amazing finds (new with tags). Good luck

LandsEnd bootcut yoga pants. I have 5 pairs & rotate them every week. They stretch & are comfortable but have just enough structure to be office appropriate.

I do old navy. I had to completely redo my wardrobe moving to schools. One was super casual now I have to dress up. Old navy had cute comfy pants and often have sales. Also I save my super cash and use it the next sale!

Congrats on the job! I ❤️ Old Navy sheath dresses! (I only shop the sales: online with ebates for the cashback). A dress with leggings and a cute pair of shoes is my go to work look.

Think uniform. If you’re buying a new work wardrobe make sure you can mix and match. I’ve always liked the idea of a capsule wardrobe. Lots of outfits pulled together with the same basic pieces. Congratulations

@jotunheim love this idea! Stick to basics and buy the neutrals! Black, navy blue, khaki pants that you can mix and match tops with. I love Old Navy’s pixie pants! I can pair with a button down or layer with a cardigan and shirt. Flats in the neutral colors are a must too! Add your pops of color with your shirts and accessorize with jewelry.

I love GAP for work attire! They have weekly deals on slacks where they are 40-60% off. I have found slacks that are usually $70-60 and bought them for $30-40.

White House Black Market is a clothing store that I love! I'm petite and short, so I always find things there that fit right.

I buy most of my work clothes from JC Penney. Specifically the Worthington line. I know nothing about fashion and all of their pieces mix and match, so I get more for my money and can swap things in and out. The quality (and sizing) seems to have stayed consistent over the last few years, too. I’m also 5’, and love that I can buy slacks off the rack without extra cost of tailoring. If you become a rewards member you will get $10 rewards coupons regularly. I rarely shop for clothes (wfh full time), but do use the rewards to go buy a new blouse for myself when I get them. If I didn’t go there, I browse the racks at Ross. But shopping is stressful for me so I avoid it if i can.

Consignment stores all the way! I got a ton of dress pants (some still with tags) from my local consignment store and they were all Ann Taylor/loft/nice quality brands that will last and they were no more than $6 piece. Obviously selection/pricing will vary but once you find a consignment store you like it is amazing!

Marshall’s and Ross are always a good place to start and besides that depending where you are there are thrift stores for gently used like new professional attire stores!

I get All my business attire, cashmere, even found a mint Burberry trench coat thrifted from Goodwill and other local stores. Shoe selection always good too! Also see if you can carpool to work to reduce transportation costs if you still have debt. Congrats on your new gig!

Hi Cara, Congratulations on the new job! Sounds like it's going to be a great fit for where your mindset is right now! Speaking of mindset, I encourage you to look at the $100 a month as an "investment" in your mental health and future, instead of a sacrifice :) <3
