Military families do you budget for the 1st and the 15th for your spouses pay check or do you budget the day it actually hits the bank? I think I want to do the 1st and the 15th but I'm not sure. We have Navy fed so it goes through a couple days early.

I do the 1st and 15th bc I can get paid from up to 3-4 days prior to the 1st or 15th depending on what the actual days are, and I have most bills on split pay bc personal preference and haven't run into too many issues, except for the 5 week months where I get paid on like the 13th and then don't get paid til the 31st and that sh*t sucks. So 1st and 15th

We have USAA so ours hits early as well. I budget the 1st and 15th to make it easier. We just pretend it’s not there until the 1st or 15th.

We budget for the 1st and 15th. We also have Navy Fed. We just pay all our bills on payday, but we still count them as either the 1st or 15th, even if we pay them a bit earlier.

We do the 1st and 15th because it's guaranteed to be there by those days

We do it for the days it hits the bank (USAA) and I pay all bills that same day.

We also have USAA, and I do for the 1st and 15th unless the pay come through more than a day early due to a holiday or a weekend.

I set it up on the 1st & 15th, because the money doesn’t always hit before an auto-pay tries to hit

I do 1st and 15th. We have Navy fed. If we get paid in Late January when it's a bill from the 1st, we carry it over to the next month.

Sorry to hijack but my post hasn't been approved yet and I haven't seen too many military family questions. hubby is AF and we have USAA too so we get paid the day before those that have "regular" banks BUT my question is do any of you get paid weekly? I'm having a hard time trying to budget with a large chunk sitting in my account for a couple weeks and then there being nothing LOL stupid mortgage ;-P

I get paid weekly and my husband gets paid once a month. I make a budget for each time I get paid, and then include income needed from his paycheck. Most of it sits in our "reserve" account off our main account until I need to pull it over.

I do the 1st & 15th. It always hits a day early with USAA & I used to use it right then but I'm really being strict with my budget now!

I wait till it hits the bank and is actually cleared. I had a slight scare when we went the “early pay day, day”

We budget by month (that way we aren’t affect by those crazy long pay periods that can happen but I would budget the 1st and 15th regardless of when it hits your bank. That way you aren’t affect by the long 15-1st pay period when the pay date falls on the 11th or 12th

I do the days we get paid and close out expense trackers when the "final" paycheck hits.
