Question

What face wash is good for oily skin and a budget? I currently use Aveeno (because @christensen Aniston, of course) but I've been breaking out a lot lately (likely due to stress) and I'm looking at trying something new. A friend suggested Paula's Choice - if you have experience with the products, please let me know what you think. Please, no MLM products (I've made the no MLM products request before and still received them, so I'll hide any comment that suggests them :) )

Norwex, yes it's MLM, so delete if you need, but it works. No face wash needed. Just the body cloth with water removes all makeup, washes face, washes body, and replaces shaving cream. I have oily skin and used to have tons of breakouts. It has made my skin more even, I have minimal breakouts, and my skin is so soft now. I can never go back to those scary toxic ingredients in store brand face washes and body washes.

I was just going to chime in about Norwex! I had bad acne as a teen, tried all kinds of different cleaners. I have used the Norwex face cloths for years now and my skin is clear and smooth (for the most part). Just the microfibre cloth and water. I haven't bought face wash of any kind in about 15 years. And while it may be considered an MLM, I believe you can also order directly from their website without a consultant. I order a body pack (comes with 3 cloths) every two years or so.

I've used Avon acme wash for years and love it. I dealt with acne my when life even at 42 and it's the best that I've tried. My daughter loves neutrogena and it works great for her.

Not a face wash, but I have struggled with an oil slick of a face and acne since I was a kid. I started moisturizing with Tarte Maracuja oil at the end of my second pregnancy and my skin has never been in better condition. I just use any drugstore face wash with salacylic acid to wash, and follow up with the oil as soon as I get out the shower. It’s pricey, but I get the travel size and it lasts for months.

I’ve used the basic Sephora brand face wash/toner combo and has helped a ton. $10 a bottle.

I used to use the unblemish line from rodan and fields but got to costly! I’ve been using this and it’s amazing! And no breakouts!

I know this is probably not great advice necessarily, and maybe not good for me, but I've stopped washing my face completely. (Unless I wear makeup, then I use my baby's soap to wash it off) I just rinse with water and my once horrendous acne has cleared up so much. I don't get cystic breakouts anymore at all. Still working on the texture of my skin and and my big pores, but yeah. I used to sell with an MLM and tried so many products that would seem to help and then just make things worse in the end. When I stopped selling, I stopped using everything and cleared up pretty well!

I have this problem along with breakouts and dry spots. I seen this free 15 day sample on line it’s called Riversol. It’s absolutely amazing. If its stress related, I'd suggest finding ways to help manage that because no amount of wash can balance hormones. It may help temporarily but it's not going to solve it. Also, I agree, skip the face wash all together!

Baking soda and just water. Or look at the oil cleansing method. Both worked wonders for me and cheap and natural

Not the cheapest, but I swear by Clinique. I only buy when it’s on sale or I have a coupon. I’ve never found anything that works like their products though!

Derm recommenced Vanicream wash/moisturizer. I’ve got acne prone/oily skin. It’s very gentle and no additives

I’ve been using Cocokind and love it. I have sensitive skin too. It’s not super cheap but all of it is under $20. Can buy at Target and Whole Foods. It’s natural skin care so not harsh at all.

Have you tried the new nuetrogena face app? It analyzes your face and makes recommendations. But I usually use CeraVe.

Tula products have changed my skin! It may seem like $23 is a lot face wash but you only need a pea size amount and mine last me for 3 months.

I love tea tree serum from the body shop. Not very expensive- not a wash but it works great in clearing up blemishes. I use Almay makeup remover wipes for eye makeup and shiseido cleanser for rest. It’s gentle and oil based, which weirdly, has kept me from having more breakouts. It’s pricey but lasts a looong time. When I’m done with it, I’ll look at “the ordinary” line to see what they have. Their other face products are cheap and amazing.

All of the neutrogena naturals line is amazing. I also love the St. Ive's Grapefruit Brightening scrub. It's gentle enough to use a couple times a week, but really gets in deep and feels super clean without stripping. I use the Olay 2 in 1 Face cloths to remove my makeup, then the Neutrogena Natural daily face cleanser and then a Vitamin C Serum and the Roc Eye cream every night. Also look into The Ordinary skincare. Really affordable, all natural, and super simple. You can get a whole regimen for $50.

I’ve only ever used noxema. I don’t have oily skin but I have sensitive skin and this is the only product that leaves me feeling clean. You can get a huge tub if it for $3 at Walmart

You may try adding the Thayers Rose Water Toner. like $10 at Target and lasts forever! I also use Aveeno acne moisturizer and add some Palmers Face Oil drops for nighttime routine. you may think add oil to acne but it works!

I use a charcoal bar of soap in the shower and a moisturizer after the shower. Glo moisturizer is wonderful.
