My partner has just spilt a pint of milk on my new carpet. How can I ensure I've got it all and cleaned it properly so it doesn't start smelling?

Don't rub at it, keep patting with kitchen towel to absorb it all keep doing it til the towel is dry then if you have Dettol spray (that looks like air freshener) spray with that for odour

Take 2 cups of warm water and mix it with one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent. Take a damp, white cloth and moisten it with this mixture. Use the cloth to soak up any remaining milk from the affected area of the carpet. Continue blotting the area until the stain has disappeared. I wud spray vinegar on it if it smells after leave sit for half an hour

Distilled/white vinegar, my husband spilt 6 pints of it in his car before selling it and in the summer. Cleaned as much as I could up and poured vinegar all over.

Get a bath towel and keep stamping on it, then wash again and do the same with a dry towel. Kitchen roll won’t get it all up.
