Is anyone an instacart shopper or similar and would you mind telling me how it works, if it's worth the money, etc? Desparately need to make some money on the side and I don't feel comfortable driving Lyft/Uber anymore (haven't done it since before baby). Any other ideas welcome! Also, if you have a referral code, does that get you/me any bonus?

I do Shipt. From former instacart shoppers, I heard they like it better. I was going to do instacart but as a mom I didnt like that I had to schedule myself for 2 hour blocks. Shipt you only have have to do one hour blocks. I feel like you can make more $ with shipt

@antonelli thanks! I'll sign up and give it a try. Would you be willing to PM me your shopper ID for referral? I just started the form and got to that point. Assuming maybe you or I (or both) get some benefit from that?

Sure! They have a Shipt fb lounge and Chicago metro fb page you should join that has tons of tips my shopper ID is in the pic

Yes we do. New shoppers get the bigger $. If you complete 35 shops in a month I think, you get an extra $250 or 350

@antonelli working on it now.  Are they for real though with these questions? Asking me to record myself talking about my favorite accomplishment. Too funny and over the top. I'll have to do this after work.

@tensimeter75 lmbo they are! I made my answers super customer service oriented but it's a great community and it's addictive. Great retail therapy without spending your money

@antonelli hah o was like, my coworkers are gonna think I'm nuts talking to myself over here. And I'll for sure have to try for that bonus money. Apparently my income going down and adding a dependent (had a baby) means I somehow OWE tax money instead of the refund I expected. Wtf?! So pissed. I was banking on a refund this year, so now I'm scrambling and already work full-time. This seems way safer than the alternative of driving strangers in my car. Plus I'm not about to uninstall my carseat all the time.

Omg! That's insane! You'd be surprised how fast you get to 35. I was doing 2 shops each day during the week and maybe 4 Saturday and Sunday

I'm part part time lol

@antonelli are there later hours, like after 7pm?
by (780 points)
@tensimeter75 yes! Even 1am deliveries. I don't do those. The latest I usually take is a 10pm-11pm. You can travel to and shop other areas. Like, I'm in Itasca twice a week so I'll take orders in Bloomingdale while my daughter is at practice. Or if my daughter has a program in Aurora on a Saturday I'll take orders in Batavia or St. Charles.

@tensimeter75 lol I did the videos in my car. If you get an email saying thanks, we'll let you know if a position becomes available. That's basically a yes and they'll email you in a couple days with a welcome. Sometimes it's instant sometimes they send that email

I’ve done it a couple of times but I feel like they used to pay way better before. In one Saturday I made $100 but it was 12 trips.

I used to do insta cart, and I like it a lot. We used to make it a family thing in the evenings and we could get more things done. It was good as a side job with kids

I’ve done instacart, but prefer doordash or Uber eats a bit more.
