When running a cbo and wanting purchase conversions does anyone else’s budget spend like crazy on ad sets that are not getting purchases? And what do you do to combat this. Do you let it run and Facebook will figure it out in a couple days or do you immediately turn off any adsets without purchases so it won’t keep over spending on them. Or do you do something completely different? Looking for some help please

Setup rules to kill the adsets within that are not working. Set up another rule to turn them back on the next day in the morning. CBO adsets will fluctuate and perform better on some days. After a couple days of this you can permanently kill the ones that are not working at all. Rules will keep your roas higher and Facebook likes things that are automated. They are part of how most successful marketers are keeping their campaigns at or above target ROAS.

@shod9 thank you! Is there a known number for how many adsets to run under one campaign and how much to budget? Or do you just trial and error and hope for the best?

@obligatory there’s not really a specific adset to budget ratio. What’s your budget for this CBO? I wouldn’t spend any less than $10 per adset essentially. Even that is technically too low to hit recommended conversions for most optimizations.

@shod9 In one campaign my budget is $260 a day spread across 7 adsets. My other is $250 a day spread across 5 ad sets. Usually by 10am I’ll be down to 3 ad sets that are profitable and by the end of the day only have one ad set that lasts through the day
