I was just on a clothing website. Then I jumped into Facebook and I was hit with a sponsored post via BuzzFeed but specifically an "article" on that clothing brand. How did they do that?

They have a pixel installed on their site, and they retarget site visitors with audience network placement

The brand has shared their audience with Buzzfeed via business manager. It’s just retargeting from a pixel.

@kehoe48 isn't wrong. I've talked to BuzzFeed about promotions. Six-figures is the STARTING point just for an article.

Is interested based targeting. You see relevant ads based on what are your currently interested. That’s how FB works. You can run broad audience catalog sales and you will have same outcome for your ads

It’s not an audience network placement. It’s a Facebook newsfeed placement. Clothing company pays buzzfeed to write an article, that article is placed in a website retargeting campaign, the ad is shown in Facebook when a user goes onto the clothing websites page, and then goes into Facebook.

Thanks Ken. But just so I understand, what's the trigger for BuzzFeed? The ad is from their account?
