Question

Hey All, what's the best way to track Google ads conversions in Shopify ? (I mean not only purchase, but add to cart, product view, . ) I installed the "Google Shopping" app that created by default the Google ads conversion tags. So far so good. but the app was removed for a reason. I re-installed it, but tags are not recording anything anymore. Looks like the connection between the app and Google ads is not working anymore. I'm then looking into another way to track Google Ads conversions.

@samella Make sure you have GTM installed and Set up Enhanced Eccomerce through GA. Those are some quick ways to start tracking then you can set up cart steps and align to your goals of add to cart, product view, etc.

@kex8 Thanks ! Enhanced ecommerce through GA is done (Not via GTM), directly from out of the box GA-shopify implementation and seems working fine. I finally imported GA conversion into Google ads as a workaround.

Thanks. I was thinking about that as well. Does shopify push custom event on add-to-cart or product click ? What about variables to grab values ? I don't see any data layer push (by default) on shopify when I check with a datalayer inspector so I'm a bit confused.

I wouldn't use Shopify itself as your main tracking tool.
