I've never used CBO before, I've been told it is not a good idea to tinker with the adsets and kind of just let the a. i optimize the budgets etc. But as you can see from my campaign, one adset is spending more and it is the worst one. Can someone please give me some actual advice? t. i. a -my target CPA is $32

Why I personally prefer ABO, give you much more control over the adsets, can always use CBO for sclaing

Testing with CBO can be tricky. If You want to make sure your adsets all have a chance - Set minimum spend - Schedule a few hours ahead so They all get active at the same time - Make sure You know some KPIs or At least an estimate. Let the CBO spend for a days or so and look at your Numbers, pause anything That is bad (above your KPIs) and let the others run, if They improve more You can start looking at scaling them into a new Campaign. CBOs can be rly good for Scaling, But tricky for testing.

So after you tested with ABO, how do you proceed to scaling? You pause bad adsets, switch campaing to CBO and start increasing budgets slowly?

Or start implementing rules That Will pause adset if spend > 2-3x TCPA or something like that, whatever fits your needs.

@attwood I actually test with CBO too. When scaling I usually take the ”winning” adsets and duplicate them into a new CBO. So say I test 10 different interests and Two of them work good. I could duplicate it into a new CBO Campaign with 5 adsets each for the Two interests. So 2x5 CBOs are not as sensitive to budget change as ABO and Thats Why scaling vertically At least Works okay. Back in the days When doing ABO You can Increase budget by like 20%, too big of a change would ruin it some times. With CBO its different, just make sure You keep track of the costs so it doesnt sky rocket, if it does go back to the previous budget That worked. Its not a perfected system by No means But it has worked decently for me.

@attwood If Youre good at ABO You could always test with ABO and scale with CBO. Ive forced myself to test with CBO to try to learn it.
