@directions I’ve watched slugs crawl straight over copper wire. Commando slugs!

I did the egg shells last year on my potted plants, which I think did work, but maybe I didn't have enough over my raised beds, because they just were ate. But no harm trying all these great ideas

Coffee grounds work 100% and they are good for the soil. Most cafes etc that use coffee beans will give the grounds to you for free ☺

Beer in a tray traps them better

I would just like to add that it's soo nice that no one has mentioned salt (horrible painful way for them to die when there's no need) or slugs pellets (horrid death and also kills anything that feeds on slugs) Natural solutions are great. And some fantastic ideas here ♥ ☺

Crushed egg shells, I started saving mine a while ago so I'll have plenty when they're needed.

If you don't want slugs get a pond to encourage frogs! Put food out for Hedgehogs & encourage birds into your garden. You can also go round your garden with a bucket and torch on wet evenings, collect them up and take them at least a quarter of a mile away to put them in a field! Otherwise they will come back (they tend to make their way home) just like mice or rats

by (2.8k points)
Its creates a little static charge when the slimy slug touch it. I use it over the thershold to stop them coming in the entry.

@equiprobable945 thank you very much I will have to invest as last year they were a nightmare.

Small saucers of cheap beer placed all over the garden at night. Each morning collect all the dead drunk slugs and repeat till they have gone. I did for a week, and FYI the slugs love the yeast in the beer and they drink, get drunk and drown. Really does work

Open a small gap in your fence and allow hedgehogs  in
by (990 points)
@gook3 our hedgehogs don't eat the slugs, they can get lungworm from eating slugs and only a tiny percent of their diet is slugs. Hedgehog holes are essential though as they are really in trouble

I used the tape I was getting them in the house every night, then we found a leak under bathroom floor everything was fixed new floor etc all sealed no more slugs do you have dog food down? They have a great sense of smell dog food will draw them in
by (1.4k points)
@hodgepodge Mason funny you say that, I keep my dry food container, next to my back door, and I do actually get them inside the kitchen just there lol
by (430 points)
@boycie6330 I'd move it then, they do have a strong sense of smell, I started putting my dogs food in the hall at night, if he'd any left over good luck x

Copper tape is quite expensive it may be cheaper to stick actual copper pennies around your pots. Works just as well.
