Question

Soo ive sanded it all down, but now debating whether to leave it and just varnish it or paint it with dark oak fence paint, i feel like it may ruin it? Opinions please

Blow torch it to bring out its grain and then varnish over it

Dark Oak would ruin it. I'd put a stain or a oil. Keep it natural looking as possible.

I’ve see someone’s post where they laid bottle tops over the top, then a resin. I think I would like to do that, I’ve tonnes of bottle tops, just need the cable reel. How do I get hold of one?

@lew1839 ive got a smaller one im gonna do that with, my brother got me this from work, he does under ground electrics so maybe try one of those companies

Danish oil will help keep the wood and you can get it in a stain too if you want to colour it.

Sand it, either Varnish, or teak oil, keep the look of the wood. x

@trivial if you live by an industrial estate youll get one from somewhere like that, like electrical construction yards.
