I'm moving into a house with a garden. I currently live in a flat and I've never had a garden before. What the basic garden tools/equipment I'm going to need please?

Not that many really, if you’ve got a lawn-lawnmower, spade/fork and a pair of secateurs, and a pair of gloves. Start by looking on sites like marketplace and give away sites.

I have a lawnmower, strimmer and gardening gloves. I have a large lawn with small patio area. But mines simple and easy to maintain due to not having the time to nurture a proper garden cause of being a full time carer.

I would first decide how you are going to garden. Do you like lots of hard seating areas and containers, or do you want flower and vegetable beds and grass? Are you concerned with neatness and order or do you want to be surrounded by greenery and flowers? If you're going with abundance and flowers you'll want a spade, a hoe and a hand fork for starters. If you intend to put your back into it, you need a really good garden spade, and a smallish one as it'll protect your back. I wouldn't rush to Wilko for such things, I'd spend ages researching a really good one and ask all your friends and family to put the money in for your birthday. Mine is a Spear & Jackson from the 1950s but they're not what they were. The Dutch make great ones. Think carefully and perhaps buy as you need things. I do hope you're going to be a digging kind of gardener.

Depends on the size of beds and the spacing of the plants. You can get lighter full length spades and fork . I'd recommend a kneeling stool or cushions (or even knee pads). Garden gloves String Hand tools: trowel, fork, rake, weedhook (especially if you have a patio or paved path). Then if you have shrubs and or roses, hand secutures.

Hand fork and shovel, secateurs (stainless steel). A bedding fork and spade, a rake and hoe, . Lawnmower, strimmer and hedgecutter.

You cannot cross the bridge before you get to it. Then it will become obvious what you need. In the meantime pop into the library and borrow some gardening books. Knowledge is power
