Or I would rip down the decking and make that area a play area for your daughter then give yourself a nice little area down on the bottom right of your garden xx

This was one of my ideas but to have bark but my partners said no to that because he says cats wee and poo onit  xx
by (1.3k points)
@rodger3048 honestly don't bark it! I spent almost £1000 in my other house on the garden cuz the landlord wouldn't and I wanted to make it safe I did a bark path all the way to the bottom end of the garden where grass wouldn't grow because of a stupidly big tree so I barked all down there too. It was just a huge toilet for the cats I was super mad lol xx

We have just moved litrually a week before lock down happened lol so that was our new garden we moved into. The green house had broken glass and wasn't safe. This is how we have it so far but have fake grass coming for the middle of the garden xx

Trying to decide on colour of fence paint is hard now I've seen everyone's on here lol xx

So it’s true lol I thought he was trying to kid me!  xx

I didn’t even realise you could have different colour fences I thought it was just brown untill joint this groupxxz

@rodger3048 lmao you're not alone I thought it was just different shades of brown for fence lmao never really took much notice of the colour of fence before now ‍♀️‍♀️

Kids toys just make it untidy. Get rid of anything unused or broken. Otherwise it’s a nice little garden x
by (330 points)
Yes including the house too I’m going to be chucking her trampoline soon when I get a bigger one for the front garden but all other stuff is brand new  could I just replace the decking without having to replace the base? X
by (4.3k points)
@rodger3048 if it’s structurally sound yes. Or just replace the boards that are rotted and stain it all the same colour. It’s the thinner wood that tends to rot first. X

@jiggermast dont always look untidy our garden is nice and we have a play area for the grandkids

@cranium sorry I never saw your picture.

Kids toys shouldnt have to effect what you want from your garden. As a mum it's about adapting, best of both worlds x

A good bit of paint on all the panels and shed. If replace the foot path with either slabs or bags of stone with slabs as steps sort of thing. Id rip that decking up put a patio down give it a nice paint to brighten up the garden. Tidy up the garden in general and cut the grass pop down some grass feed and seed where needed. Maybe get some cheap fairy lights to go around the garden xx

I’ve ordered new fence panels they should be here in the next two weeks (these was already in when I moved in) and yes I was thinking of putting stones up the boarder, would I need to put anything down or just stones straight on top? Xx
by (1.3k points)
@rodger3048 I'd get some membrane. Pull all the weeds apply some weed killer down then put down the membrane then your stone on top of that will help stop any weeds from popping up through the stones you'll always get the odd 1s but won't be half as bad if you grt some membrane and it's fair inexpensive xx

Rip all the decking up and either do a patio or gravel? Tidy the path up a bit and could look lovely xx
by (330 points)
Yes that’s what I was thinking. I don’t think I’ll need to spend too much as it just needs general tiding and cutting and replacing the decking xx
by (460 points)
@rodger3048 yeah definitely. Gravel is probably cheaper than slabs. Could put the trampoline etc on it to stop it from killing the grass and stuff xx

I'd think about separating the space. Creating somewhere for you and somewhere for the kids. Also a touch of paint on the shed. Take away the decking if it's not safe. X
by (330 points)
Yes I’m definitely going to separate our space to hers and yes the decking is not safe at all it’s slowly breaking x
by (450 points)
@rodger3048 have alittlw think about where you would like to spend your time and then where the kids will enjoy there time. What's your budget xx
by (330 points)
Around £500-£700 xx

It needs some love is all pull out the weeds paint the fences and wood work edge the borders, cut the lawn regularly and just tidy it up you will be surprised how little it will cost maybe get some bits from bm or pound land to
by (330 points)
I do so well at keeping on top then I neglect it in the winter so it looks crap then I can’t seem to get myself out to sort it in the summer  xx
by (910 points)
@rodger3048 aww I know mine looks awful after the winter I try to tidy it in late autumn put it to bed the just do a little bit each day even if it's only 5 mins you be surprised how different it will look after a week
by (330 points)
I’ll try that Thankyou x

You can buy wood hardener if you want to save the decking. You just paint it on

Paint the shed, take up old decking and lay new as long as joists and frame are ok. Make the left part a raised bed with flowers etc
