We plan to put a picket fence across with a gate, that kids but not dogs can access so kids can play. That area of the garden gets very wet and muddy in the winter, and then just as bad in the summer, being sparse with grass, and gets dry and dusty. After a failed year of grass seeds (birds, dogs, kids), someone suggested clover lawn (once the picket fence is up to stop the dog). Is this cheap and easy to do? Will clover grow well in light and shade and winter and summer in dry and wet conditions? Will I need to reseed every year? Because it's rental, we are not keen to spend loads, as we plan to move in a couple of years. So looking for ideas for an area roughly 6x6 metres that's part sun/shade, wet/dry depending on season, that the kids can play on in summer x
